Remote Software Engineer

Overview: We are currently hiring a Software Engineer for a short term contract in Newport News, VA. This position will be mostly remote, with the expectation to come onsite 1-2 times a month. So you need to live within a decent driving distance. Description: Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. May design embedded systems software. Qualifications: US Citizenship. BS Degree. 5 years of relevant work experience. Core Technical Skills ASP.NET WebForms - Deep understanding of page lifecycle, server controls, view state, and event-driven programming. .NET Framework 4.7 - Proficiency in C# or VB.NET, understanding of .NET ecosystem. SQL Server - T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, query optimization. ADO.NET - DataSet, DataReader, connection management. NestJS - TypeScript-based backend framework, dependency injection, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture. Angular - TypeScript-based frontend framework, components, services, reactive programming. TypeScript - Strong typing and modern JavaScript features. Node.js - Runtime environment and npm ecosystem Web Technologies HTML/CSS/JavaScript - Client-side development and integration with server controls. AJAX - Asynchronous operations and partial page updates. JSON/XML - Data serialization and exchange formats Development Environment Visual Studio - IDE proficiency for debugging and development. SQL Server Management Studio - Database administration and querying. Source Control - Git, TFS, or similar version control systems Database & Architecture Database Design - Normalization, indexing, relationships. Stored Procedures & Functions - Server-side data logic. Performance Tuning - Query optimization, connection pooling Container Skills Docker - Containerization, image creation, orchestration. Kubernetes - Container orchestration and deployment management. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
