Who we are

We're three friends who met at Gymnasium through Jugend gründet. We've always been the kind of people who build things and ask 'What if?', but that all changed when we visited a school for the visually impaired in Stuttgart. That day changed everything.

That's when Habric was born. It's a wearable device that translates what's happening around you into real-time 3D vibrations, giving visually impaired people an intuitive way to sense their surroundings.

Since then, things have moved fast. We won Jugend gründet and STARTUPTEENS at national level, took home a gold medal at iENA, received a personal invitation from the German president and placed in the top three at Samsung Solve for Tomorrow. We are now based at the TUM Forschungszentrum in Garching. We've received interest from eight countries, even though we haven't started marketing yet.

The Role

We're building technology for the visually impaired community – and we need someone from that community to build it with us.

You'll be the bridge between habric and the visually impaired community worldwide. You'll help us understand what actually matters, connect us with organizations and influencers, and make sure everything we build makes sense for real people.

This Role Has Two Main Parts

Community & Network Building (70%)

• Reach out to NGOs, blind organizations, and advocacy groups globally
• Build relationships and document what different communities actually need
• Connect us with key influencers and community leaders in the accessibility space
• Help us build a network of testers who want to shape the future of assistive tech
  
  

Product Testing & Advisory (30%)‍

• Test our prototypes and give us honest feedback
• Be our go-to advisor for "does this actually make sense for someone who's visually impaired?"
• Help us understand needs we might miss as sighted developers
  
  

The setup: We're offering a mini-job (8-10h/week, ~€520/month) with potential for long-term collaboration as we grow.

You can work fully remote or join us at our office in Garching every couple of weeks – whatever works best for you.

You should apply if you

• have lived experience with visual impairment and understand the challenges and needs of this community
• are fluent in English (our working language)
• have strong communication skills and feel confident on video calls
• are comfortable with email, online collaboration tools, and digital communication
• want to actively shape technology that impacts your community
• care about building something that makes a real difference
• are proactive, curious, and not afraid to tell us when we're getting it wrong

It’s a plus if you

• have experience in community work or advocacy for the visually impaired
• are tech-savvy and enjoy testing new products and giving detailed feedback
• speak German (helpful for reaching German-speaking organizations)
• have connections to blind/low-vision organizations or communities
• understand the assistive technology landscape
