Retail Manager Requisition ID req37646 Working Title Retail Manager (On-Call) Position Grade 11 Position Summary PLEASE NOTE: This position is for the UNM Gallup Branch, located in Gallup, NM, approximately 138 miles west of Albuquerque, NM. The UNM Gallup Bookstore is seeking an experienced Retail Manager, for a temporary, on-call appointment at .25 FTE , to report to the Director of Business Operations and provide primarily remote operational support to bookstore staff. Onsite assistance will be provided as needed for specific operational needs, inventory activities, events, or other duties requiring a physical presence. Responsibilities include purchasing textbooks, clothing, snacks, and supplies; working closely with book vendors to coordinate orders, pricing, availability, and returns; overseeing inventory control, receiving, returns, shipping, physical inventory, and shrinkage; supporting retail marketing, advertising, promotions, and special events; maintaining strong profit margins and competitive textbook costs; and preparing fiscal and administrative reports. The successful candidate will have strong retail management experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while effectively supporting onsite staff. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field Experience with textbook purchasing and direct textbook buyback Retail management experience, including purchasing, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and merchandise returns Experience managing inventory, stock displays, shrinkage, and computerized year-end inventory Demonstrated proficiency in retail merchandising, stock control, and marketing activities Experience with UNM policies and procedures Proficiency with PrismRBS and Bookstore Management System and Banner software Additional Requirements Campus Gallup Department Gallup Branch Employment Type Staff Staff Type On-Call Term End Date Status Exempt Pay Hourly: $22.16 - $29.70 Benefits Eligible This is not a benefits eligible position.
