JOB SUMMARY The Revenue Cycle Billing Resource (RCBR) leads their portfolio ’s operations in providing world-class best practices for billing, cash collections, and accounts receivable functions for assigned Home Health & Hospice agencies. This role serves as a primary billing and collections subject matter expert by supporting Billing Managers, Billers, agency leadership, R evenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders , and Service Center partners ; strengthening standardized workflows ; resolving complex billing , payor, and reimbursement issues ; and improving overall AR performance. In collaboration with Pennant Service Center RC System Resources, RC Portfolio Leaders, and billing partners across the Home Health & Hospice segment, the RCBR helps develop, monitor, and maintain shared best practices that support a world-class AR function across the organization. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Leads billing, cash collections, and accounts receivable best practices for assigned Home Health & Hospice agencies within the Portfolio . Creates accountability for billing and collection workflows, procedures, performance expectations, and standardized best practices for Billers and Billing Managers. Provides front-line support to Billers and Billing Managers, including billing questions, agency-specific collections efforts, payor or system issues, tools to monitor activity, and active billing support when appropriate. Provides short-term coverage for Billers during unexpected absences, onboarding, acquisitions, transitions, or critical operational disruptions while supporting a sustainable staffing solution. Partners with Executive Directors, Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders, Billing Managers, Service Center resources, and other stakeholders to deliver training, reinforce standard work, and monitor adoption of best practices. Maintains collaborative working relationships with AR Service Center Resources, Billers, Billing Managers, RC Portfolio Leaders, Managed Care, payors, referral sources, and cross-functional partners to support shared ownership of a world-class AR function. Maintains working knowledge of payor contracts, reimbursement expectations, Medicare, Medicaid, and other billing regulations; serves as a resource and supports resolution of payor conflicts, claim issues, and reimbursement barriers. Supports payor projects, process improvement initiatives, and system or workflow improvements in partnership with agency leadership, RC Portfolio Leaders, Managed Care, and Service Center Revenue Cycle System Resources. Monitors billing notes, aged accounts receivable, cash collections, documentation compliance, manual revenue adjustments, and related revenue cycle metrics to identify risks, support audit readiness, and improve agency performance. Participates in Portfolio BAM and revenue cycle review meetings to identify systemic AR issues, workflow concerns, and opportunities to strengthen consistent best practices across agencies. Assists Billers with cash receipt and bank deposit reconciliation errors as needed. Ensures billing and patient account records are maintained in accordance with accounting principles and applicable organizational, state, federal, and accreditation requirements. Protects the confidentiality of patient and agency information through effective controls, compliant billing practices, and partnership with billing operations. JOB REQUIREMENTS At least three years of experience in healthcare billing and collections management, preferably in Home Health and/or Hospice operations. Demonstrated knowledge of billing operations, collections, accounts receivable, payor requirements, and applicable government billing regulations. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and demonstrate effective communication, negotiation, coaching, and relationship-management skills. Demonstrated ability to accurately manage detailed information, analyze performance trends, identify risks, and support corrective action planning. Ability to work tactfully and collaboratively with agency leaders, Billers, Billing Managers, RCPLs, Service Center personnel, payors, and cross-functional partners. Demonstrated autonomy, initiative, flexibility, accountability, and sound judgment in performing job responsibilities.
