Must telecommute from anywhere in the US and report to Warrenton, VA site. Schedule, conduct and document site visits to client properties in the steel, aluminum and molten metal industries. Conduct property risk engineering surveys for clients to understand site operations and evaluate exposures from hazards such as fire, explosion, machinery breakdown, natural hazards, and business interruption. Produce detailed risk engineering survey reports addressing all aspects of site/project operations, hazards and exposures and risk management practices. Provide consulting advice to clients on how to minimize losses. Provide loss prevention and asset protection/operational risk management advice to clients, insurance company partners and other stakeholders. Conduct desktop reviews of project plans and documents to provide an expert opinion of risks and risk quality for insurance underwriters and/or end clients. Develop advice to minimize loss potential and advise clients on why and how these should be implemented. Work M-F 8am-5pm. Salary Range: $128,294 - $145,000/year. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Fire Protection, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent. Requires three (3) years of Industrial Risk Engineering, fire/loss prevention, or operational risk management experience in heavy manufacturing (steel, aluminum, or molten metals industries) to include three (3) years with the following: conducting audits in steel/aluminum operations; fire protection evaluations in molten metal facilities; applying ISO 31000/9001 in heavy industry; developing risk forecasts, KPIs, and indices; conducting insurance/property risk audits; investigating unplanned outages/stoppages; contractor safety and compliance reviews; Highly Protected Risk (HPR) Property Engineering; electrical/mechanical system assessments.
