Job Description

This is a remote position.

Job Overview

The Rostering Officer plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations through effective coordination of staff schedules. You will be responsible for building rosters that align with participant needs, solving scheduling challenges, and ensuring service continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain rosters in line with participant support requirements, service agreements, and staff availability.
  • Ensure rostering complies with SCHADS Award provisions, including minimum shift times, breaks, and maximum hours.
  • Monitor and action roster changes, including cancellations, shift replacements, and emergency coverage.
  • Ensure timely coverage of shifts and monitor staff availability.
  • Liaise with support staff and participants to confirm shifts and resolve roster conflicts or queries.
  • Ensure appropriate matching of support staff to participants based on skills, preferences, and support needs.
  • Approve and confirm staff attendance.
  • Collaborate with HR to identify and communicate recruitment needs.
  • Work closely with Managers to review and update rosters.
  • Train new support staff on Myxa’s rostering processes and procedures.
  • Complete all reporting activities accurately and on time.
  • Ensure quality and compliance requirements are consistently met.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information related to participants, staff, and organisational operations.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions as required.
  • Actively contribute to service improvement and process enhancement initiatives.
  • Participate in after-hours rostering support if required.
  • Adhere to Myxa policies and procedures at all times.
  • Provide general administrative support as required.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Rostering Coordinator or management team.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Excellent computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively to changing priorities.
  • Practical problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and respectful communication with staff and participants.

Desirable

  • Experience in rostering or workforce coordination within the disability or health sector.
  • Knowledge of SCHADS Award provisions as they relate to staff rostering.
  • Understanding of NDIS-funded supports and service delivery models.
  • Experience responding to frontline staff and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
