Job Summary Responsible for collecting, recording, and analyzing safety incident data. Adhere to Internal Control Plan and Central Reporting Process documentation to support the success of monthly FRA reporting and the success of internal analytic reports and analysis. Essential Functions Apply knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) accident/incident reporting requirements 49 CFR Part 225 to perform data entry and analysis of injury, illness, and/or rail incidents and support monthly FRA reporting. Recommend decisions on FRA reportability and coding. Obtain information to supplement incident reports by independently accessing various internal and external systems, contacting division and facility staff, and contacting other railroads' FRA reporting team. Assist in audits, supplying documentation to auditors, researching, and drafting responses. Assist in developing and documenting new processes and procedures, as needed. Safeguard employee medical records, drug and alcohol test results, and accident cause reports. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Able to understand and apply the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) accident/incident reporting requirements as stated under 49 CFR Part 225 Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio) Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly articulate issues and proposed solutions Self-motivated and able to work independently High attention to detail and organizational aptitude Understand the importance of record retention and ability to keep records privileged and confidential Logical thinking skills in order to work through tough problems Work Environment Must have authorization to work in the United States. Works 4 days in the office with 1 day remote. Position can work from Philadelphia, Wilmington or Washington, DC. #LI-LA1 The salary/hourly range is $65,500.00 – $84,888.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. Depending on an employee’s assigned worksite or location, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to be applied to the employee’s base salary. If an applicant/employee refuses to provide written consent for Amtrak to obtain these records, the individual will not be permitted to perform safety-sensitive functions. In accordance with federal law governing security checks of covered individuals for providers of public transportation (Title 6 U.S.C. §1143), Amtrak is required to screen applicants for any permanent or interim disqualifying criminal offenses. Note that any education requirement listed above may be deemed satisfied if you have an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
