Safety Services Specialist Remote, USA (Home-based) | Full-time $140,000 – $180,000 per annum + Strong benefits About the Opportunity Fortress Safety is looking for a Safety Services Specialist to bring deep machinery safety standards knowledge and expertise to our customers, our teams and the wider industry. Reporting to the Product Director, you'll connect engineering design and product specification with customer demand, market requirements, and evolving safety standards across our key global markets. You will educate, advise and support the growth of Fortress as we deliver on our purpose of saving lives by providing the best safety solutions. This is a genuine opportunity to shape how the industry thinks about machinery safety compliance and training. What You'll Be Doing Drive internal and external activity that positions Fortress as a trusted safety authority, including site visits, webinars, and standards and technical workshops Ensure the Safety Services strategy and roadmap aligns with engineering design/specification capability with customer demand and market/regulatory requirements across the UK, USA, Europe, Australia, China and India. Act as the senior authority on machinery safety standards (e.g. Machinery Directive/Regulation, UKCA/CE marking, relevant IEC/EN standards) both internally and with customers, distributors and regulators. Create content and deliver first-class training on B11 to educate the wider workforce on machinery safety related standards Support New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activity, ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are designed in from concept through to launch. Support the development of a Fortress training academy proposition Partner with Product Management and Marketing to translate technical and regulatory content into accessible, engaging customer-facing training materials Support New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) activity, ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements are designed in from concept through to launch What You'll Bring Proven machinery safety standards knowledge and application expertise within machinery safety, industrial automation, EHS, product compliance or a related regulated engineering environment. Strong working knowledge of machinery safety standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. Machinery Directive/Regulation, UKCA/CE marking, ISO/EN standards). Strong communication and collaboration skills Experience as an effective trainer with the ability to make the complex simple Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance A meticulous approach, with a continuous improvement mindset The ability to lead and influence without formal authority A university degree or equivalent experience gained on the job in engineering, health & safety, or a related discipline; relevant professional certification (e.g. CMSE, NEBOSH) desirable.
