Building on Milliman's established expertise in telematics and the success of AccuRate, the InsuranceERM North America 2026 Award-winning pricing and underwriting solution, this role will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies, driving direct sales, and expanding Milliman's presence in key markets across North America, South America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. As a member of the practice leadership team, the Director of Sales will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of this global business. Given the entrepreneurial nature of the practice, the position requires a hands-on leader who can balance business development, marketing, strategic planning, and practice leadership. Responsibilities Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Milliman's vehicle telematics products and consulting services, driving revenue growth and market expansion. Lead direct sales efforts across prospects generated through Milliman relationships, industry networks, strategic partnerships, and targeted business development activities. Build and manage a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities, advancing prospects through the sales cycle and achieving growth objectives. Design, implement, and continuously improve sales processes, tools, and performance management practices to support a scalable organization. Recommend and prioritize target markets, geographies, and customer segments based on market potential, competitive dynamics, and strategic fit. Lead the development and prioritization of marketing materials, messaging, and campaigns that effectively communicate Milliman's value proposition and capabilities. Partner with consultants, product leaders, and strategic alliance partners to identify opportunities and bring innovative telematics solutions to market. Serve as a member of the practice leadership team, helping to guide strategy, operations, investments, and overall business growth. Recruit, develop, and lead sales and marketing talent as the practice expands, creating a high-performing commercial organization. Represent Milliman in the marketplace through client meetings, industry events, conferences, and strategic partnerships to strengthen brand awareness and generate new business opportunities. Skills and Experience 5+ years of successful direct sales experience, preferably within the insurance, technology, analytics, or data solutions markets. Strong understanding of vehicle telematics, connected vehicle technologies, fleet management, logistics, or adjacent industries. Proven experience selling technology-enabled solutions, with preference for experience in data, analytics, SaaS, or insurance technology products. Demonstrated success developing and executing go-to-market strategies for new products, services, or business initiatives. Experience partnering with or leading marketing efforts to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and revenue growth. Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and delivering measurable business results. Strong business development, relationship management, negotiation, and client-facing communication skills. Experience working as part of a business leadership or management team, contributing to strategic planning and growth initiatives preferred. Experience recruiting, hiring, developing, and managing sales and marketing professionals preferred. Experience working within a startup, high-growth business, or entrepreneurial environment preferred. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving organization and balance strategic planning with hands-on execution. Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant industry certifications preferred. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally to support clients, partnerships, and business development activities. Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field required. Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related discipline preferred. Location This role is based out of the Milliman office in Seattle , WA , but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US. The expected application deadline for this job is November 1, 2026. Compensation The overall range for this role is $147,400 - $279,680. For candidates residing in: Alaska, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York City, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, or the District of Columbia the range is $169,510 - $279,680. All other locations the range is $147,400 - $243,200. A combination of factors will be considered, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, etc. Additional Compensation: First Year Target Commission: $125,000 - $175,000 Accelerators: Uncapped above quota, with meaningful upside for overachievement Growth Potential: There is growth potential to VP, Sales and Potentially Chief Revenue Officer, dependent on practice growth.
