Customer Sales Representative
Job Description
MZM Transports is a U.S.-based freight agency managing truckload shipments across North America. We specialize primarily in open-deck freight and are looking for an experienced Customer Sales Representative to help grow our customer base and generate new business.
This is not an administrative, carrier sales, account management, dispatcher, or entry-level sales position.
We are looking for a proven transportation and logistics salesperson who understands freight brokerage, is comfortable prospecting every day, can communicate confidently with U.S.-based shippers, and knows how to turn cold prospects into long-term customers.
Your primary responsibility is simple:
Create new opportunities and win new customers for M3 Freight Solutions.
You will own the customer sales process from prospecting through initial account development, including cold calling, qualifying prospects, following up, identifying shipping opportunities, obtaining quote opportunities, and converting prospects into active customers.
We are looking for someone who does not need to be convinced to pick up the phone. You should be competitive, persistent, organized, comfortable with rejection, and capable of building genuine business relationships.
Responsibilities
• Prospect and identify new shipper/customer opportunities throughout the United States
• Make consistent outbound calls to transportation decision-makers and shipping departments
• Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospects
• Conduct discovery conversations to understand a prospect’s freight, lanes, equipment requirements, challenges, current providers, and decision-making process
• Identify opportunities for M3 Freight Solutions to provide value
• Generate quote and shipment opportunities from prospective customers
• Consistently follow up with prospects through phone, email, and other appropriate channels
• Convert qualified prospects into active shipping customers
• Build relationships with transportation managers, logistics managers, shipping managers, procurement personnel, and other decision-makers
• Maintain accurate prospect notes, follow-ups, and sales activity inside the company’s CRM
• Work with operations and carrier sales to ensure new customers are properly transitioned and serviced
• Continue developing newly acquired customers to establish consistent freight opportunities
• Participate in sales coaching, call reviews, role-playing, and performance reviews
• Meet established prospecting, pipeline, conversion, and revenue expectations
Requirements
• Minimum 2 years of transportation/logistics sales experience
• Proven experience prospecting and acquiring new customers
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills
• Comfortable making a high volume of outbound sales calls
• Confident speaking with U.S.-based executives, transportation managers, logistics managers, and shipping personnel
• Strong discovery, relationship-building, sales, negotiation, and closing skills
• Ability to handle rejection and maintain consistent prospecting activity
• Strong follow-up habits and pipeline management
• Ability to think independently, solve problems, and adapt conversations rather than simply reading from a script
• Organized and disciplined with CRM documentation and scheduled follow-ups
• Reliable internet connection and professional remote-work environment
Preferred Experience
• Freight Brokerage Customer Sales
• Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Sales
• Truckload Transportation Sales
• Open Deck / Flatbed Freight
• Cold Calling & Outbound Prospecting
• Lead Generation & Qualification
• CRM & Pipeline Management
• Rate Quoting & Freight Pricing
• Customer Acquisition
• Account Development
• Negotiation & Closing
• Remote Sales
What We Offer
• Competitive Salary
• Weekly Pay
• Paid Time Off (PTO)
• Long-Term Job Stability
• Career Growth Opportunities
• Commission & Bonus Opportunities
Compensation
Base Salary: $2,000–$2,500 USD per month
Pay Frequency: Weekly
Additional Compensation: Weekly commission + performance bonuses
Final base compensation will depend on freight brokerage experience, communication ability, demonstrated sales performance, and overall fit.
Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:45 AM – 5:00 PM Eastern Time
Includes:
• 1-hour lunch
• Two 15-minute breaks
Applicants must be consistently available during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Important
This position is for someone who has proven sales experience prospecting, following up, and onboarding new customers. You already understand logistics sales and understand the sales cycle that comes with it.
If your transportation experience has primarily been dispatch, track & trace, carrier operations, or administrative work without responsibility for acquiring new customers, this position is NOT the right fit.
We are looking for someone who can own customer acquisition as a function of the company, not simply complete assigned prospecting tasks.
