We start, advise and invest in exceptional companies in AI/software, services and manufacturing verticals in the United States. We also operate a multi-family office, investing across diverse asset classes. We’re looking for a leader to take responsibility for developing a world-class team. This person will own our talent function. At Interplay, “talent” includes: 1) all things recruiting and HR, 2) supporting the existing team members in their personal development, 3) maintaining the office work environment, and 4) organizing key culture events for the team and external business affiliates. We have a strong preference for candidates capable of leveraging our advanced internal AI systems to streamline recruiting, talent, office and event systems. The ideal candidate is someone who thinks like a salesperson and operates like an exceptional sales operator. For the right person no task will be too big or too small; a typical day could include interviewing pedigreed CEO candidates, restocking the fridge and everything in between. At Interplay every activity is critical and completed with pride. Our success is the sum of all of the parts. WHAT YOU’LL DO Define talent and operational strategies and systems. Lead relevant section of team meetings. Oversee & customize relevant AI applications. Conduct proactive outbound outreach through email, phone, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and other channels. Manage full cycle recruiting process including but not limited to: sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes daily, conducting recruiter calls, assisting in scheduling interviews, compiling feedback and managing candidate communications. Track activity, pipeline health, conversion rates, meetings, opportunities, and outcomes. Develop direct relationships with existing team members, providing them with operational and morale leadership. Compile and help deliver feedback to team members. Design and execute a seamless onboarding and offboarding experience, ensuring new hires are integrated into the culture and systems quickly, and departing employees exit smoothly. Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and documentation within the HRIS (Human Resources Information System). Own company compliance with local, state, and federal labor laws (e.g., EEO, FLSA, FMLA) and manage workplace safety guidelines. Maintain and regularly update the Employee Handbook, ensuring company policies evolve alongside business needs and culture. Formalize the performance management process, driving the schedule for annual or bi-annual reviews, goal-setting, and career development tracking. Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing a trusted, confidential space to resolve interpersonal conflicts or performance issues. Support managing benefits administration, including annual open enrollment, healthcare plans, retirement options (401k), and wellness perks. Own the daily office rhythm: supplies, mail/packages, guest experience, meeting room readiness, and general office organization. Coordinate vendors and service providers (cleaning, repairs, internet/IT support, building management, etc). Manage office inventory and purchasing; keep the office environment seamless. Develop and maintain office guidelines and make it easy for people to follow them (signage, docs, quick training). Manage and coordinate all events. These include: Internal events for the team, External Interplay hosted events, and All events held at the office. Event management tasks include: Event coordination with internal and external parties, Catering, Scheduling, RSVPs, and Day of execution including set-up and breakdown. PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 5+ years of recruiting and/or sales experience. Experience working at a recruiting/search agency, staffing firm, sales organization, or other high-performance, relationship-driven business is strongly preferred. Proven track record of building and managing a pipeline and consistently generating new opportunities. Laugh (often). Have a great attitude and are willing to get your hands dirty. Have relevant work experience, preferable from other tech companies. Are hyper-organized. Have the ability to work well in an unstructured environment by creating systems. WHO YOU ARE A self starter and motivated to learn. A problem solver and someone who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty. A swiss army knife who can handle a multitude of different responsibilities. You are organized. You have experience managing timelines and are able to organize information into plans. You have a creative mindset and can generate innovative ideas for events and marketing campaigns, always staying ahead of industry trends. You are a proactive problem solver, capable of identifying potential issues and providing timely solutions. You are a team player with excellent interpersonal skills, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and building strong relationships. You are highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism. A person who gets things done, finds a way around walls and pursues excellence.
