The Sales Training Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and deploying sales training strategies to drive seller and manager capabilities, elevate performance, and ensure alignment with corporate priorities. This role oversees Corporate Sales Trainers, partners closely with Sales and cross functional leaders, and ensures consistent execution of onboarding, skill development, and sales enablement programs. This position has been segmented as Remote Anywhere meaning that the work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii or United States Territories. Primary Owner of Sales Trainer Relationship: Develop and grow Corporate Trainers’ ability to effectively position new and existing elevate skills and knowledge during onboarding of Territory Managers (TMs), Account Executives (AEs), District Sales Managers (DSMs), and National Sales Managers (NSMs). Ensure TM Seller and Manager Onboarding processes are executed consistently across all sessions and classes. Provide coaching and feedback to enhance Sales Trainers’ presentation skills when addressing sales associates, leaders, cross‑functional teams, and customers. Manage Sales Trainers’ schedules, calendars, and activities to ensure their primary focus is training sellers on tools, selling skills, and onboarding content required for success. Review and assess sales training needs; collaborate with cross‑functional teams and sales leaders to identify opportunities and communicate action plans to the Director of Sales Training. Evaluate Sales Trainer effectiveness and provide ongoing coaching. Oversee sub‑teams to ensure effective program management across STRC, SMR, and other training outlets supporting the sales organization. Develops and Executes Company Training Programs: Provide expertise and insights to the Director, Sales Training. Works with Functional leaders to ensure on-boarding alignment to functional processes, tools and strategies Ensures content taught and supported align with Local and National Program content, guidance and direction Assist in developing sales content, modules, and training programs. Train Sales Trainers on new modules to ensure understanding and effective facilitation. Determine training needs by reviewing market/ regional/corporate data (sales results, turnover, tool usage) and collaborate with the Director, Sales Training to create action plans. Meet financial objectives by forecasting training requirements and assessing financial impact. Support corporate functions in developing training content for new programs, process rollouts, GSM, SMM, QQB, and other initiatives. Partner with SLA and Learning & Development teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategies. Trains and Onboards Sales Managers (DSMs, NSMs, RSMs): Ensure all new DSMs, NSMs, and RSMs are trained using the Sales Manager Onboarding process. Drive managerial performance by orienting new managers, conducting sales management training, providing learning resources, and coaching individual leaders. Schedule and facilitate DSM/RSM training at the Corporate level. Assist Sales Trainers in identifying potential career paths and support development of Individual Development Plans. Maintain the Sales Training Resource Center for all seller and manager onboarding materials. Gathers Best Practices: Review ad hoc training for alignment with company strategy and redirect to approved content as needed. Identify and prioritize best practices for potential company‑wide adoption; communicate recommendations to the Director, Sales Training. Foster an environment of openness among Sales Trainers to encourage continuous sharing of best practices. Communicate outcomes of Director reviews, especially when best practices are selected for company‑wide integration. Leadership Partnership & Training Responsibilities: Partner with leadership to understand training needs related to skill gaps, selling skills, tools, and processes based on corporate priorities and market needs. Measure training impact against KPIs; assess effectiveness and continuously improve results. Build strong partnerships with Area Presidents and Area leadership teams to ensure Sales Trainers influence sales activities and behaviors that drive performance. Gather feedback on Sales Trainers for continuous improvement and coaching. Weekly Responsibilities: Attend leadership calls to stay informed on strategies and initiatives. Assess training gaps and develop strategic plans to address them. Align with Function Leads and Sales Operations and provide proposals to the Director of Sales Training based on needs assessments. Related Experience: Minimum five years of sales or US Foods Sales Trainer experience (foodservice industry preferred). Prior experience as DSM, NSM, RSM, or higher-level sales leadership desirable. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent presentation and communication skills; strong oral and written abilities. Ability to engage senior and executive leaders and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. Skilled in developing and delivering sales training modules. Familiarity with field sales concepts, practices, and procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook), video editing software, web/SharePoint design, and sales order‑entry applications preferred. Ability to lead Sales Trainers in rolling out training initiatives aligned with corporate priorities. Strong consultative skills to identify learning needs and design impactful development initiatives. Ability to train on technologies and strategies that enhance Salesforce capabilities. Travel: 50%–70% travel required. This role will also receive an annual incentive plan bonus .
