SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris) Technical Lead Belong to the Boelter community that brings people together... We value the individual where your unique perspective builds a stronger community and fuels our passion for authentic relationships. About the role You will be the senior technical authority for the SAP Commerce platform itself: data model, extension architecture, OCC APIs, and the CCv2 release train. This is a hands-on lead role — you will write code, review code, and set the standards the rest of the team codes to. You'll work alongside our Frontend Tech Lead, who owns the React storefront, and partner with Enterprise Architecture on integration and ERP boundaries. What you'll own Platform architecture. Extension structure, item type and data model design, and the decisions about what belongs in Commerce versus PIM, ERP, pricing, or the BFF. You'll be the person who says no to customization that should be configuration. OCC and API surface. Design and evolve the commerce APIs consumed by our React storefront and BFF, including auth, session, cart, checkout, and order history contracts. Integration design in Commerce. The Commerce-side contracts for S/4HANA (order, customer, inventory, pricing), product data, pricing guidance, and tax, delivered through our iPaaS layer. You define what Commerce expects; you don't have to build the middleware. Multi-brand and multi-site design. A shared codebase serving two brands with distinct catalogs, customer identity, pricing, and checkout behavior — including B2B account hierarchies, contract pricing, and quote-to-order flows. Release engineering. CCv2 build and deployment strategy, environment promotion, and coordinating Commerce releases with an independently deployed storefront. Bitbucket Pipelines, SonarQube, and automated regression are part of the picture. Performance and reliability. Caching strategy, impex and cronjob design, and production diagnosis using Dynatrace. Own the platform's SLOs, not just its features. Technical leadership. Code review, design review, and mentoring a mixed team of internal engineers and nearshore/offshore partner developers. Raise the floor on everyone's output. Required qualifications 7+ years building enterprise commerce systems, with 5+ years hands-on SAP Commerce / Hybris including at least one full implementation or major replatform you saw through to production. Deep Java and Spring expertise. Fluency in the Hybris platform specifically: type system, ServiceLayer, facades, impex, cronjobs, and Flexible Search. Production experience with SAP Commerce Cloud (CCv2) — build manifests, deployment pipelines, environment topology, and the practical limits of the platform-as-a-service model. Headless / API-first delivery. You've exposed Commerce through OCC or custom APIs to a decoupled storefront and understand where that architecture bites. Real integration experience with an ERP (S/4HANA or ECC strongly preferred) and with PIM, tax, and pricing systems. B2B commerce depth: organizational account structures, contract and customer-specific pricing, approvals, and quoting. SQL and relational data modeling strong enough to diagnose a slow query without waiting for a DBA. Demonstrated technical leadership on a distributed team — you've set standards, reviewed others' work, and made architecture decisions stick. Clear written communication. You can put a design decision and its tradeoffs in front of a CTO in one page. SAP Commerce certification. Preferred qualifications Spartacus / Composable Storefront experience, or migration off it. Distribution, wholesale, or foodservice industry background. At Boelter, we care about our associates.
