SAP Solution Architect

xelerate.tech is partnering with one of the largest and most respected private German NGOs for development cooperation and humanitarian aid (working towards the goal of Zero Hunger) and is building a new Tech Hub in Porto.

As a SAP Solution Architect, you are responsible for the overall solution architecture of Welthungerhilfe’s Business Solutions landscape. You ensure that SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud and related business applications are designed according to architectural standards, integrated efficiently, and remain scalable and maintainable throughout their lifecycle. This role combines deep SAP expertise, business understanding, and hands-on ownership.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end solution architecture for SAP S/4HANA and connected business applications (e.g. SAP Ariba, Salesforce, SuccessFactors, MFPlus, SAP BAIP / BTP).
• Define and maintain architecture principles, technical standards, and integration patterns.
• Evaluate new business requirements from an architectural perspective and translate them into sustainable solution concepts.
• Design and govern interfaces and integrations between SAP and non-SAP solutions.
• Act as technical counterpart to implementation partners and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
• Lead architecture governance, technical design reviews, and participate in the ZAMI Architecture Board.
• Assess the impact of SAP releases and new technologies on the existing solution landscape.
• Support transition into operations and ensure long-term maintainability of the application landscape.

Your Skills and Experiences:

• Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics or a comparable qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP solution architecture, enterprise architecture or SAP consulting.
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (preferably Public Cloud), SAP BAIP (BTP) and cloud integrations.
• Strong understanding of integration technologies (APIs, middleware, cloud applications).
• Experience working with external implementation partners and multi-vendor environments.
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); German language skills are a plus
