The Insurance Technology Delivery Lead can be based out of Johannesburg or Cape Town on a hybrid in-office model.

This role focuses on playing a pivotal role in leading end‑to‑end technology delivery across locally based and internationally distributed teams within a fast‑paced IT consulting environment. This role is responsible for driving Agile/Scrum delivery, coordinating complex cross‑team dependencies, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will build strong relationships with clients, act as their primary delivery partner, and collaborate closely with implementation partners and vendors to maintain alignment and delivery excellence.

The Delivery Lead is responsible for ensuring successful end‑to‑end delivery of technology projects and services for clients. This role focuses on orchestrating teams, managing client expectations, ensuring delivery excellence, and driving continuous improvement across engagements. The Delivery Lead works closely with technical leads, project managers, consultants, and senior stakeholders to ensure that solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead large-scale Guidewire and insurance technology programmes across global PwC territories, including South Africa and the UK.
• Drive end-to-end programme delivery through globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
• Partner with executive stakeholders to align delivery strategy, scope, priorities, risks, and milestones.
• Oversee multi-territory governance, quality assurance, release readiness, and programme performance reporting.
• Manage complex dependencies, resource planning, and delivery capacity across international teams.
• Act as the primary delivery leader for client technology, product, and business stakeholders.
• Champion Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, cloud delivery, and engineering best practices across global squads.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, facilitate alignment, manage risks and dependencies, and ensures high‑quality delivery through structured governance and proactive communication.
• Provide data-driven insights on delivery performance, utilisation, risks, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance delivery frameworks, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the Guidewire practice.
• Foster high-performing global teams through strong governance, collaboration, and delivery discipline.

Requirements:

Experience & Track Record

• At least 10–12 years leading large-scale Insurance Technology and Guidewire transformation programmes, delivering both transformational (build) and operational (run) services to multi‑territory clients.
• Demonstrable experience taking full operational responsibility for an Insurance Technology or Guidewire capability within a global or nearshore/ offshore delivery centre.
• Proven ability to drive continuous improvement across delivery teams to enhance quality, efficiency, engineering standards, and client experience.
• Strong, broad experience across the Guidewire ecosystem (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter, Digital, Cloud), related integration technologies, and supporting insurance platforms.
• Strong alliance engagement experience, ideally with Guidewire and other strategic technology partners relevant to the insurance domain.
• Ability to lead and coordinate multiple concurrent delivery workstreams across global, multi‑territory client programmes.

Qualifications:

• BSc/BCom, or related post-graduate degree
• Guidewire certification advantageous
• Agile certifications advantageous.
