OhMyV is an early-stage biotech startup reinventing sexual health prevention, building microbiome-safe STI prevention and contraception designed specifically for vulva health. The gap we're closing is structural: prevention products were never designed with the vulva in mind. We have a product in market, another on its way, and I'm looking for the right co-founder to own our scientific direction.

This is not a job. There's no salary (yet), no job description handed to you, no manager checking in. You'd be coming in as a co-founder with real equity, real ownership, and real responsibility for shaping where this company goes.
The reality is, right now it's a lot of work. I work evenings and weekends because the work needs doing, and that's just where we are as an early-stage company. As we grow, hire, and secure further funding, that changes. But for now, the right person will understand this and be in it with me. They're energised by building something from scratch, comfortable with ambiguity, and the kind of person who creates momentum rather than waiting for it.

The role
This is a science-first leadership role. You will join an operating startup, not a cold start, and take ownership of the scientific and technical engine.
R&D: Lead product development from concept through clinical validation and regulatory approval. Define and own the research roadmap. Design and oversee testing methodologies and research protocols.
Clinical & scientific partnerships: Build and manage relationships with research institutions, clinical partners, and development collaborators. Be the credible scientific voice OhMyV needs as we grow.
Product: Bridge the gap between clinical evidence and commercial product design. Ensure everything we build is grounded in science and designed for the people using it.
Strategy: Shape OhMyV's scientific positioning, from regulatory pathways to IP strategy to pipeline prioritisation.
External presence: Lead across research partners, regulators, clinical collaborators, and investors as our scientific co-founder.
Who I'm looking for
A scientist or engineer with a PhD or MSc in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field - ideally with experience in medical device or biomaterial development.
Or a clinician: a gynaecologist, sexual medicine specialist, or women's health professional, who wants to take their understanding of vulva health and translate it into products that actually fill the gap (literally!).
To be a strong candidate, point to specific evidence of:
Hands-on experience in research, product development, or clinical practice in a relevant field
The ability to work independently and drive progress without structure being handed to you
Genuine interest in the commercial side, this is not a pure research role
Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action
An entrepreneurial and business-minded approach to science
Strongly preferred: experience in medtech, biomaterials, or sexual/reproductive health; familiarity with EU regulatory pathways for medical devices; existing networks in women's health or sexual medicine research.
Compensation
Equity: Significant founding equity, structured with a vesting schedule
Salary: None until the first round closes. Founder-level salary post-raise
Upside: Founder-tier ownership in a company with a clear path to scale and impact
We're building products that solve real problems while embracing the fact that sexual health should be pleasurable, not just protective.
