Scott AFB UPP Software Developer

This is a part-time flexible Hybrid position designed to accommodate students in good standing with their university. The ideal candidate will be a senior, entering senior year or a master's degree student pursuing a degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or related field. Seniors pursuing bachelor's degree will be considered. A professor recommendation is required. Travel to Scott Air Force Base IL is required. This position requires a U.S. Security Clearance. Only U.S. citizens eligible for U.S. Security Clearance should apply. POSITION OVERVIEW: This position requires the performance of tasks related to research, development, deployment, and enhancement of enterprise-wide software solutions using techniques such as hands-on coding, debugging, contributing to software architecture and design, etc. on behalf of the government customer and Small Business Consulting Company (SBCC). Write, test, and maintain code using modern programming languages and frameworks. Participate in the design and implementation of databases and APIs. Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing software applications. Contribute to documentation, reporting, and presentations for stakeholders. Work independently and as part of a team to solve technical challenges. Learn and apply new technologies and development practices. Supervisory responsibilities None Work environment Hybrid/Remote with occasional on-site duties at Scott Air Force Base. Home office environment during scheduled remote work hours. Office environment during on-site work hours. Occasional travel to meet with clients or attend conferences. Physical demands Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Travel required Commute to and from Scott AFB, IL as needed. Occasional travel to meet with USG clients or attend conferences. Required education and experience Pursuing master's degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. OR Rising Senior pursuing bachelor's degree in software development, computer science, data science, mathematics or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. Preferred education and experience Knowledge of languages such as R, Python, SQL, and JavaScript Pursing master's degree: Computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. Pursuing bachelor's degree (senior or entering enior year): computer science, software development, or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. Additional required eligibility requirements Lives in or commutable distance to Scott AFB IL. Work authorization/security clearance requirements United States Citizen.
