Opportunity: As a Software Development Engineer III (Frontend) at Hiver, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical landscape, influencing our product roadmap, and guiding our team while contributing to our vibrant company culture. With our customer base expanding rapidly and processing over 5 million emails daily for thousands of active users, you will be at the forefront of creating and enhancing the user experience. In this role, you will lead and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers while providing critical technical direction to our front-end development efforts. You will also have the exciting opportunity to tackle intricate technical challenges, including optimizing our architecture to handle the surging email volume and establishing a framework to monitor and enhance the performance of our front-end systems. Key Responsibilities What you will do? Building and maintaining interactive and responsive frontend systems across various form factors. You will own all aspects of front-end development from coding to deploying. Understand, follow and improve Hiver's standards for the software development life cycle Building next-generation web applications with high reusability. Work closely with product and tech team to deliver efficient, maintainable and unit tested software Proactively identifies problems with requirements (lack of clarity, inconsistencies, technical limitations) for their own work and team work, and communicates these issues early to help course-correct Collaborate with product & business teams to understand customer journey and come up with solutions that help Hiver grow Contribute to the architecture and design of new and existing systems Helping defining and improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes Collaborating closely with designers and other stakeholders to build dynamic and compelling user experiences while embracing emerging standards Key Requirements What we’re looking for? 5 - 8 years of hands-on experience building frontend systems. Proficiency in Web Fundamentals - HTML5, CSS3 & JavaScript. Experience with modern frameworks like Vue JS is a must have. Experience with SASS / TailwindCSS / Material UI (or similar modern CSS solutions / frameworks) is required. React.js is good to have Sound knowledge of design patterns and best practices for writing clean, linted, maintainable and reusable code Solid foundation in Computer Science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. Strong knowhow and experience with frontend tooling and best deployment practices is required. An architect's mindset - we want a fast time to market but without undermining long term prospects. You will have to continuously assess the various trade-offs when considering long term vs short term benefits / drawbacks and make informed choices about the optimal approach. Strong analytical and debugging skills - you should be able to troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely manner. Responsible for designing and conducting a high-quality code-review process and maintaining highly performant, testable code with following strong software design patterns. Breaking down complex problems into small tasks and PRs to deliver value safely and incrementally. You will be actively reviewing approaches created by the tech team and helping them to find the optimal solutions to the problems. Good communication skills - you should have good communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be proficient in English and able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
