Search Engineer (Relevance) at BairesDev
As a Search Engineer (Relevance), you will be responsible for enhancing the discovery experience by optimizing search accuracy and performance. You will act as the link between complex data indexing and intuitive user retrieval, ensuring that search results are both highly relevant and lightning-fast.
What You'll Do
Fine-tune relevance scoring models and ranking algorithms to improve the precision of search results.
Design and implement efficient indexing strategies to handle large-scale data updates and retrieval.
Optimize complex query DSL and search configurations to minimize latency and improve system throughput.
Develop and maintain hybrid search capabilities, combining traditional keyword matching with advanced retrieval techniques.
Collaborate with product and backend teams to translate user intent into technical search requirements.
Analyze search quality metrics and perform A/B testing to continuously iterate on ranking performance.
What We Are Looking For
4+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Search Engineering, or Backend Development.
Proven expertise in designing and optimizing search systems using Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, or Solr.
Deep understanding of Lucene internals and indexing strategies.
Proficiency in relevance tuning, scoring algorithms like BM25, and query DSL optimization.
Hands-on experience implementing hybrid search and query optimization at scale.
Advanced proficiency in English.
