The Library Services Coordinator within CARLI is responsible for the overall management of the Illinois Digital Public Library of America (DPLA) Service Hub, the Illinois Digital Heritage Hub (IDHH), including metadata quality control, management of metadata harvest stream, maintenance of the DPLALocal (IDHH Webpage), and to develop and lead IDHH's outreach programs. This position is mostly remote with twice-a-year trips to the CARLI Office and occasional travel to state and national conferences to represent IDHH interests. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Too Long QUALIFICATIONS Required: Bachelor's degree. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master's Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.) Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required. Additional education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization: Preferred: ALA-accredited master's degree in library and information science (MLIS) or equivalent degree Experience with MARC, Dublin Core, MODS, or other metadata schemas and standards Experience with digital assets management systems, such as CONTENTdm, SharedShelf, Omeka, or Veridian At least two years of working experience with metadata creation and management in an academic or research library setting Experience with managing multi-institution collaborative research projects Experience with metadata harvesting and metadata clean-up projects Experience with providing metadata-related training and instruction Experience in designing and implementing outreach initiatives KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong computer skills including spreadsheet and database applications Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively and flexibly with a wide variety of stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment APPOINTMENT INFORMATION This is a % Academic Professional Program Coordinator position.
