This is an additional senior technical Information Security role, focused on ensuring security is embedded into the firm's technology landscape, projects and strategic initiatives. Acting as the bridge between Information Security, Technology teams and the business, provide expert guidance on secure design, risk management and security architecture decisions. Role Detail As part of our pivotal wider Technology team, with over 100 nationally, you will be valued and respected. Reporting to the Head of Information Security, this additional role adds another layer of support and an opportunity for the existing team to continue in their path of specialisation - You will play a crucial role in ensuring the security posture of our company, designing and integrating secure systems, and implementing appropriate security controls. As a technical security expert, you be helping securely design high level solution designs for projects and guide pragmatic, risk-based decision making. Based in the Sydney CBD office, with a hybrid approach to WFH, this role will closely support the Information Security Manager and Head of Information Security, in the strategy and design of the firm’s Information Security Programme and controls. You will also be collaborating with other technology teams to ensure the secure design and implementation of solutions across the firm. Key responsibilities include: Collaborating with various teams in designing, implementing, and testing security systems, networks, and infrastructure components to ensure the highest level of protection. Providing subject matter expertise on security topics and guidance to stakeholders, ensuring security principles are embedded in various processes, projects, and initiatives. Reviewing new and existing Information Technology projects for compliance to IT architecture by developing, documenting and communicating strategies and standards. Partnering with technology teams to establish re-usable security patterns and reference architecture. Identifying potential vulnerabilities and threats in the company's infrastructure, applications, and processes. Evaluating the company's security risk landscape to prioritise and recommend appropriate security measures. Regularly reviewing and optimising security operations and security assessment processes, as required Supporting the day-to-day operation of the core technologies used by the firm’s Information Security team Proactively putting forward ideas for information security efficiencies and improvements to enhance the overall state of security Continuously monitoring new threats, threat actor Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), vulnerabilities, security technologies, and trends. Making recommendations for effective security solutions and enhancements. Maintaining an advanced knowledge of emerging technologies through regular attendance at industry seminars/presentations. Supporting the Information Security Manager and Head of Information Security with developing and delivering the firm’s Information Security Programme, developing metrics to report its overall maturity and effectiveness to the firm’s executive Helping the team build a positive, security-aware culture throughout the firm About You You will bring strong stakeholder management and communication skills, an ability to translate technical risks into clear business outcomes, build collaborative relationships across technology teams, and make pragmatic, risk-based decisions that balance security with commercial priorities. With an excellence without arrogance ethos, you will bring a confidence to constructively challenge solutions, to achieve the best outcomes. As a natural mentor, you will also bring: Strong technical aptitude, knowledge, and willingness to learn and develop skills in security technology controls including but not limited to firewalls, EDR, Cloud Security Platforms, Gen-AI and agentic AI, SIEM, Threat Hunting and Incident Response Good understanding of the ASD Essential 8 as well as MITRE ATT&CK framework Experience of responding to compliance audit requests and a good understanding of compliance frameworks and regulations (ISO27001, CCSA, NIST, CPS234) Strong networking skills including microsegmentation in on-premise and cloud environments Strong understanding and practice of Security Architecture, following best practice frameworks such as SABSA and TOGAF Strong understanding of complex enterprise architectures Next Steps Please click ‘Apply Now’ to apply online with your cover letter summarising why you’re applying and your resume to support your experience.
