Role: Security Architect - Wealth Management Type: Contract - Hybrid (2/3 days onsite, 2/3 days remote) Rate Range: $95-100/hr C2C (40 hrs /week) Duration: 6- 12 months Location: Toronto ON, Canada The Information Security team partners with departments to advance technology and third-party information cyber risk management capabilities that enable the Fund to compete effectively and take advantage of innovative technologies.The Security Architecture Engineering team is responsible for determining, designing, and implementing security controls for the organization, including assessing the security level of applications. Job Summary and Purpose As a Security Architect, you will lead pieces of architecture work on key investment systems and programs. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to help define the solution architecture and ensure it aligns with the enterprise vision and architecture strategy. Major Accountabilities Support the implementation and delivery of the enterprise architecture vision through architecture roadmaps, transition architectures, and solution documentation. Lead the design, development, and execution of security architecture strategies aligned with organizational security objectives and business goals. Design and implement security architecture solutions across systems and applications, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Continuously assess and enhance security processes, procedures, and infrastructure to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance. Help develop and maintain the solution architecture lifecycle and methodology, including artefacts, deliverables, models, processes, roles, and responsibilities. Act as a trusted security advisor, partnering with business and technical stakeholders to provide guidance, build consensus, resolve conflicts, and drive optimal solutions. Ensure adherence to architecture standards, principles, and governance processes to deliver scalable, high-performing, reusable, and agile solutions. Lead and facilitate architecture decision-making for technical infrastructure and application environments. Contribute to architecture decisions related to business and information environments. Collaborate across teams to align technology solutions with enterprise architecture and organizational objectives. Core Qualifications Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field. 10+ years of experience as a Security Architect or in a similar cybersecurity leadership role. Strong experience in information security and cybersecurity, including strategy development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring. Experience providing strategic security guidance within large, complex organizations; consulting experience is considered an asset. Deep technical and operational expertise across multiple security domains, including: Identity and Access Management (IAM) Cloud Security Risk Management Enterprise Security Architecture Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework (NIST CSF). Experience working with and implementing leading security technologies and solutions. Experience with Palo Alto SASE solutions is preferred. Professional security certifications, including one or more of the following: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) SABSA Security Architecture Certification Other recognized information security certifications Excellent ability to align security architecture with business objectives and enterprise technology strategies. Key responsibilities Partner with business and technology teams to advance information security and third-party cyber risk management capabilities. Support the organization's adoption of innovative technologies by ensuring security risks are properly identified and managed. Lead security architecture initiatives for key systems, applications, and enterprise programs. Define and recommend security controls to protect organizational assets, systems, and information. Assess the security posture of applications and provide guidance on remediation and risk mitigation. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solution architectures that align with business requirements and security objectives. Ensure solution designs align with the enterprise architecture vision, technology roadmap, and security strategy. Provide security architecture expertise throughout the design, implementation, and deployment lifecycle. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend security solutions that support organizational goals. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security requirements into technology initiatives and projects. Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise solutions. Serve as a trusted advisor on security architecture best practices, standards, and governance.
