Role Description The Seed Investor role at YooKatale is a hybrid position based in Geneva, with flexibility for partial work from home. The Seed Investor will focus on evaluating YooKatale’s current and future funding needs, assessing market potential, and contributing capital at the early stage to support growth in Uganda’s food and digital marketplace ecosystem. Day-to-day activities include reviewing financial projections, discussing strategic initiatives with founders, providing input on product and market expansion, and monitoring key performance indicators. The Seed Investor will also participate in regular meetings with leadership, offer guidance on governance and risk management, and help build connections with other potential investors and strategic partners. This role is designed for individuals who want to actively support an impact-driven, customer-centric food technology venture.

Qualifications

• Experience in early-stage investing, venture capital, angel investing, or impact investing, with a strong interest in food, agriculture, or digital marketplaces.
• Financial analysis and modeling skills, including the ability to review business plans, unit economics, and cash flow forecasts.
• Knowledge of startup ecosystems, particularly in emerging markets or African contexts, and familiarity with market research and competitive analysis.
• Ability to provide strategic guidance on growth, scaling, and operational efficiency, including product-market fit and go-to-market strategies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with founders, team members, and co-investors in a transparent and constructive manner.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with availability for meetings in Geneva and remote collaboration with teams in Uganda.
• Demonstrated alignment with YooKatale’s values, including customer focus, respect, authenticity, curiosity, and perseverance.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical investing experience.
