Job Title: Senior Accountant (U.S. GAAP & Month-End Close)

Location: Remote (LATAM, CEE, Philippines, South Africa, or Egypt Preferred)

Salary Range: $3,500–$4,000 USD/month

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM CST

Independent Contractor

Own the accounting cycle for a fast-growing U.S. business, including month-end close, general ledger integrity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for an experienced accountant with strong U.S. GAAP knowledge who thrives in a high-growth environment and enjoys improving accounting processes.

You'll work closely with finance and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and help scale accounting operations.

What You'll Own

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger, reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts, and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and documentation for audits and management reporting.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, revenue recognition, and expense allocations in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with Operations, Payroll, and leadership to improve accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and support budgeting and forecasting.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven experience independently managing month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of the full accounting cycle and U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to work U.S. business hours or maintain significant schedule overlap.

Nice to Have

• CPA or equivalent accounting certification.
• Experience with U.S.-based companies, preferably $50M+ in annual revenue.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Background in high-growth companies and improving accounting processes or financial controls.
