Senior Accounting Onboarding Specailist

Is this job info correct?

About Uplinq Uplinq is the AI-powered bookkeeping and tax automation platform built for small business owners. We’re re-engineering how entrepreneurs manage their finances, replacing manual bookkeeping, rules, and spreadsheets with intelligent automation that delivers real-time clarity and control. We’re a Series A startup backed by top investors, growing fast. Our team is lean, execution-focused, and allergic to fluff. We measure success in demos booked, pipelines created, and revenue influenced. Individual applicants residing in the US only About the role You're the first person a new Uplinq client talks to after they sign. You'll walk them through setup and get their account live, which includes cleaning up whatever data they bring with them and asking for the data they are missing. The portfolio is large and always moving. Clients sit at every stage of onboarding at the same time, so you'll be holding several timelines in your head on any given day. When one starts to slip, we need to hear it from you early. This is the senior seat on the onboarding team. The right person has a magnetic energy making them someone that a nervous business owner relaxes around inside the first ten minutes. We are looking for someone a client still asks for by name three months after onboarding ended. You're smart, savvy, memorable, and excited by helping small business thrive. What you'll do Client onboarding Run client meetings daily to collect financial data and pin down scope. Clients trust you when the accounting is right, when they like talking to you, when they understand what you're telling them, and when you do what you said you'd do. Set up and configure Uplinq and QuickBooks Online accounts. That includes fixing the integration and access problems that come with them: Plaid connections, payroll, revenue processors, inventory systems. The syncs should be clean from the first day. Check the signed proposal against what the client tells you they need on the first call. If there's a scope or pricing mismatch, flag it that day. Sales, your manager, and the client all need to hear it from you. Keep a high volume of onboarding timelines and deliverables moving at once. Tell your manager when your workload or one specific account is about to fall behind, early enough that someone can still do something about it. Get the documents out of clients who go quiet or push back. One polite email won't do it, so come with a second and third approach. Technical accounting Troubleshoot setup and data problems with real accounting judgment. When you get something wrong, say so quickly and adjust how you're working. Take the accounting calls on the messiest books that come through onboarding, including the ones a junior specialist brought to you because they couldn't resolve it. Find workarounds when an onboarding stalls, because a good-enough solution that lands on time is what the client needs: manual data entry when a feed breaks, another route to the documents, a schedule change that unblocks things. Overseeing the team Review junior Onboarding Specialists' work before it reaches a client, and give them feedback specific enough to change their next setup. Be the person a junior specialist brings a problem to before it becomes a client-facing one. Hand off the parts of an onboarding that don't need you personally. You stay accountable for the result after you've delegated it. Growing the account Notice when a client needs more than what they signed for, and say so. That includes recommending other Uplinq services when the fit is real. Work with Sales, Initialization, Accounting, and Tax to close handoff gaps. Own your piece of the process from start to finish and hand the account off cleanly when onboarding ends. Qualifications 6+ years in a client-facing accounting or onboarding role, at Senior Associate level or above in a public or multi-client accounting firm. 6+ years using QuickBooks Online daily, including setup, integrations, and troubleshooting. Desktop-only experience won't cover what this role needs. Deep technical accounting. You're the person colleagues bring their hardest question to, and you have strong working knowledge of cash and accrual accounting. You've reviewed or overseen the work of other accountants, formally or informally. That starts on day one in this role. You've carried 25+ active client relationships at the same time and stayed on top of all of them. You escalate early when an account is at risk, and you adjust when a plan stops working. Clients ask for you by name. You build rapport fast, and you can settle down an anxious business owner on a first call. You're comfortable telling a client directly that what they signed won't cover what they need. You're comfortable saying you got something wrong, too. You've recognized when a client needed more than they bought and raised it with them. Formal sales experience is optional. Why Join Us Competitive pay + health, dental, vision, 401(k), and life insurance Remote-first and flexible work culture Clear path for career growth in a fast-growing firm Modern tech stack and automation-first mindset Supportive, collaborative team with strong systems and documentation Compensation Range: $75,000-$85,000
