About our group | Mō te roopu We regulate activity across the climate, land & ocean environments to enable New Zealand to sustainably utilise its natural resources, protect its environment and meet its international obligations. We manage applications and decision-making processes and operate the register that allows carbon units to be traded. We ensure that obligations are met through our confident application of the legislative frameworks we operate under. We do all of this effectively, efficiently, fairly and transparently, in order to be a trusted independent regulator. About the role | Mō te tūnga This is a fixed-term role for 6 months. We are also open to inter-agency secondments. This role is based in our Wellington office. While we're happy to consider work-from-home arrangements, this role is not designed for full-time remote working. As a Senior ETS Analyst, Operations, you'll provide high-quality analysis, strategic advice and implementation support across a range of operational and improvement initiatives. You'll work with colleagues across the EPA and government to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and support delivery of a trusted regulatory service. Typical responsibilities include: Providing analysis and advice on operational, strategic and legislative issues Supporting complex decision-making within the ETS framework Leading or contributing to business improvement and change initiatives Building productive relationships with stakeholders across government and industry Coaching and mentoring analysts and contributing to team capability Success in this role means delivering practical, evidence-based solutions, supporting high-quality operational outcomes and helping maintain confidence in the integrity of New Zealand's Emissions Trading Scheme. Salary r ange $90,801 - $136,201 per annum (midpoint $113,501). This is the full salary range of the band, from 80% - 120%. Appointments will generally be made at or below the midpoint of this range, depending on skills and experience.
