We're one global team driven by our common purpose to deliver a better world. Join us. AECOM Buildings + Places Architectural team is seeking a Senior Architect to join our Burnaby, BC team. AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government. This is a newly create position. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform as an senior architect on high profile projects Preparation of planning documents, conceptual and schematic designs, illustrations and graphics, construction details, construction documents, technical specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of public and private sector projects Use computer software as a tool for solving architectural problems Maintain conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes Provide support to the Architectural Manager on all phases of building design projects as required. Prepare creative, functional and innovative designs for clients Preparation of detailed architectural designs, architectural details and specifications Lead technical coordination and working with various disciplines to develop designs, meet with clients as required. Assist in business development Minimum Requirements : Bachelors degree in Architecture with six (6) years of relevant professional experience with complex buildings (science and technology, commercial, institutional, industrial, etc.,) Proficiency in Revit is a must Must be a Licensed Architect with the OAA Preferred Qualifications : Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institute or equivalent experience Ability to work within in a dynamic multi-disciplinary in-house consultant team Thorough knowledge of building systems and construction detailing Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills Demonstrated strong creativity in design Strong presentation skills Ability to work with various Canadian municipalities for permitting and development approvals process Strong conceptual and technical design skills Exceptional technical knowledge of building construction and the Ontario Building Code Excellent written and verbal communication skills Team player High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning Candidate must be dedicated to working hard with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately Ability to conduct construction administration Project Management Experience is an asset Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup, and other artistic methods necessary to convey creative ideas Experience in aviation, transit, and water / wastewater treatment sectors considered an asset. Relocation is not available for this position. Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.
