To be considered, please include a cover letter and resume in your online application The Office of Undergraduate Admission assembles a freshman class of 1,700 students and a transfer class of approximately 25-40 students each year. We strive to build a class that cuts across a number of dimensions to add to a rich and diverse undergraduate educational experience for everyone. We believe that a student body that is both highly qualified and diverse in terms of culture, socioeconomic status, background, work and life experiences, skills and interests is essential to the educational process and will provide additional contributions and dimensions to the Stanford community. The Office of Undergraduate Admission seeks a Senior Assistant Director of Admission (with a focus on rural and small-town outreach) who, under the supervision of the Assistant Dean of Admission for Diversity Outreach and External Relations, will administer, implement university and/or interpret department admission policies and procedures. ] Examples of Core Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serving as the primary point person for coordinating and implementing the Small Town and Rural Students (STARS) College Network to support students from rural and small-town America by providing a comprehensive suite of outreach programs and helping them navigate, enroll, and graduate from college. Managing the STARS College Network as well as internal and external stakeholders seeking to support college access for rural and small-town students including implementation, cross-team communication, data management and training for file review. Managing strategy and execution of all rural-student outreach efforts, including data assessment and maintenance, audience growth and engagement, digital and in-person program planning, relationship-building with high school and Community Based Organization counselors, rural and small-town travel strategy/planning, and yield programming for rural students. Foster campus partners including collaboration and programming for outreach and yield efforts Planning and executing domestic campaigns targeting rural and small-city high school students, parents and counselors. Conducting analysis on effectiveness of territorial outreach programs and making recommendations on strategies; e.g., overseeing collection of enrollment data, developing reports and analyses to make recommendations for future program development. In addition to the minimum requirements, the following is desired: 4 years relevant experience in higher education selective admission with a focus on rural and small-city high school outreach. Core Duties : Read, evaluate, recommend and advocate to the Admission Committee on which undergraduate and graduate applicants to consider for admission based on current university priorities. Act as project manager on medium to large sized projects/programs by establishing and executing project plans, timelines, tasks, and objectives. Conduct informational sessions for internal and external communities on a variety of subjects, (i.e., student life, research, internships, athletics, admissions), based on university priorities. Manage assigned geographic territory by researching, compiling and analyzing various demographics data. Create proposal for outreach and present findings to management with recommendations Further develop and strengthen relationships with secondary or university personnel, professional organizations, students, parents and alumni. Serve as a resource to other departments; represent unit/department at activities and events, meetings, committees and conferences. Responsible for the administration or management of a specific program and/or program budget. May supervise the work of other staff. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2 years relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent reading comprehension skills. Strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and make distinctions among competitive applicants. Excellent interpersonal skills. Professional presentation skills. Program planning skills.
