We are currently building our network of Audit Seniors for 2027 remote and onsite opportunities with established audit and professional services firms across Europe.

About the Role

As an Audit Senior, you will play a key role in planning, executing, and finalising external audit engagements for international clients. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day audit fieldwork, reviewing financial information, assessing controls and risk areas, and ensuring high-quality audit deliverables.

This opportunity is suited to professionals who are completing their SAICA articles, recently qualified, or already operating at Audit Senior level and looking to accelerate their careers through international exposure.

Assignments may be completed remotely from South Africa or onsite internationally, depending on client requirements and candidate suitability.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Planning & Execution

• Plan, execute, and finalise external audit engagements.
• Manage day-to-day audit fieldwork across multiple client assignments.
• Perform audit procedures in accordance with applicable audit methodology and professional standards.
• Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify and assess key audit risks and areas requiring additional investigation.
• Evaluate internal controls and document audit findings appropriately.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

• Assess financial information against relevant accounting standards.
• Apply IFRS and relevant professional standards throughout the audit process.
• Identify accounting, reporting, and compliance issues and communicate these to the appropriate stakeholders.
• Ensure audit documentation supports conclusions reached and meets required quality standards.
• Prepare clear and accurate working papers, reports, and client deliverables.

Team & Client Management

• Manage audit deliverables and deadlines across assigned engagements.
• Supervise, review, and support junior team members where required.
• Liaise professionally with clients, managers, and senior stakeholders.
• Communicate audit findings and outstanding matters clearly and professionally.
• Build strong working relationships with international clients and engagement teams.

Quality & Delivery

• Maintain high standards of audit quality and professional judgement.
• Work effectively within fast-paced reporting environments.
• Manage competing priorities while meeting engagement deadlines.
• Contribute to efficient audit execution and positive client outcomes.
• Adapt to different client environments, industries, systems, and working cultures.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Currently completing SAICA articles and eligible to qualify by year-end, or
• Recently qualified CA(SA), or
• Fully qualified CA(SA) with relevant post-qualification experience.
• Approximately 3–5 years of relevant external audit experience.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and audit methodology.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS and applicable professional standards.
• Experience working with medium to large clients is advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard audit software environments.
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
