We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to work with one of our US clients, a fast-growing B2B SaaS company dedicated to transforming behavioral health and whole-person care through technology. The ideal candidate will join a mission-driven team focused on building secure, scalable, and high-performance digital health platforms that empower people to achieve their best well-being. In this role, you will design and develop APIs, services, and infrastructure to support web and mobile applications for enterprise healthcare clients. This is primarily a backend and cloud-focused role (roughly 80% backend/infra, 20% frontend), and you'll collaborate closely with product, data, and DevOps teams to deliver robust and elegant systems within a modern cloud environment. Occasional frontend involvement is expected, but deep frontend expertise is not required; strong backend and cloud skills are the priority If you are fluent in English, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and a passion for solving complex problems in healthcare technology, this position might be a great fit for you! Our roles are 100% remote, and you will be integrated directly into the client's engineering team, gaining valuable international experience and contributing to meaningful digital innovation. Here are some of the exciting day-to-day challenges you will face in this role: Design and develop scalable, secure, and reliable server-side components and APIs. Work closely with Product and Front-End teams to implement RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, business logic, and database queries and schemas. Build and maintain services using TypeScript and Node.js, and manage deployments across AWS and Kubernetes environments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST requirements through strong engineering practices. Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation using Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or similar tools. Monitor, debug, and improve backend performance, reliability, and observability. Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate documentation and unit/integration tests. Pitch in on frontend tasks (React) as needed, without needing to be a frontend specialist. Collaborate cross-functionally in agile sprints using Jira, Confluence, and GitHub. You will shine if you have: 5+ years of experience in backend software development, including SaaS or digital health platforms. Expertise in TypeScript/Node.js, with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL servers. Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modeling. Strong proficiency with AWS services and container orchestration using Kubernetes. Strong knowledge of microservices, security best practices, and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST). Experience using Docker, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code. Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment with iterative development cycles. Some exposure to React or frontend work is a plus, but not required. Desire to master a variety of AI tools to reduce coding time and enhance backend development or automation processes.
