Senior Backend Engineer

Pure is a global dating app committed to bringing honesty and fun into the dating world. We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer to help us accelerate our product's performance and broaden our audience. What are we looking for? 7+ years of experience working with Django Strong understanding of asynchronous architectures and patterns Solid understanding of relational databases (especially PostgreSQL ) Experience building RESTful APIs Strong understanding of multiprocessing, threads and async Python . Experience with pytest and solid testing practices (we care about tests - our goal is 100% coverage) Nice to have: Experience designing or leading migrations from a monolithic system to microservices with asynchronous architecture. What will you be working on? Like any dating platform, we manage high volumes of users and data, work on refining matching algorithms and architecture, continuously enhancing user experience, and developing new features. We’re in the middle of transitioning from a monolithic system to a modern microservice architecture, with several services already up and running. Our tech stack includes: Python 3.12+, Django 4+, Celery / Dramatiq, Kafka, Dapr, PostgreSQL, Redis Sentinel, RabbitMQ, Centrifuge. We run everything on AWS, using Kubernetes for orchestration and CI/CD pipelines for smooth deployments. What do we offer? Remote work.
