Senior Backend Engineer (Golang)

At BlockByBlock Technologies (Athens-based, remote-first), we’re building the trading infrastructure of tomorrow. From MEV-aware execution to high-performance on-chain trading engines, our team pushes the limits of Ethereum and Solana virtual machines to power the next wave of DeFi.

What You’ll Do

• Build and optimize robust, low-latency backend systems for on-chain trading.
• Collaborate with a world-class team to refine trading strategies and ensure high reliability.
• Integrate seamlessly with decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and DeFi protocols.
• Take real ownership of what you build — from design to production.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years backend development in Golang or similar.
• Strong understanding of data structures & design patterns.
• Hacker mindset: curious, resourceful, and pragmatic—reads source, instruments systems, and finds root causes quickly.
• Easy-going and collaborative — we move fast and don't have time for ego.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.
• Fluent with Claude Code (or equivalent AI coding workflows) — we expect you to multiply your output with it.
• Fluent in Greek and English.

Bonus Points

• Master’s degree in CS.
• Experience with low-latency, high-performance systems.
• Linux power user.
• Blockchain node client development (Ethereum preferred).
• Smart contract development (Solidity) & familiarity with DeFi ecosystems.
