What is the role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our growing team and manage end-to-end financial records, including AP/AR, sales, and reconciliations. Working closely with our Accountant and Controller, you will help generate financial reports, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain the day-to-day ledger for our diverse client base. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a strong foundation in US GAAP and financial reporting, and is proficient in platforms like QuickBooks, Xero or NetSuite.
What you would do:
● Accurately record all daily financial transactions (purchases, sales, receipts, and payments) in the general ledger.
● Maintain books of accounts through the trial balance stage.
● Perform periodic reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts to ensure data accuracy & integrity
. ● Ensure all expenses and income are coded to the correct Chart of Accounts (COA)
. ● Enter data, maintain accounting records, and prepare financial statements.
● Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and schedule payments using tools like Bill.com.
● Generate and send client invoices, monitor aging reports, and follow up on overdue payments to optimize cash flow.
● Assist the Accountant/Controller in the month-end closing process, including preparing accrual and deferral entries.
● Timely submission of open items to the client and ensuring financials are delivered as per the agreed SLAs.
● Prepare and format financial statements for ACT review.
Key skills:
● Relevant experience in Finance & Accounting Operations, including bookkeeping, AP, AR, and month-end closing.
● Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles (preferably US GAAP).
● Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting entries and financial records.
● Strong data entry skills, along with a knack for numbers.
● Proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic data visualization to summarize financial information.
● Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite preferred.
● A "zero-error" mindset with high attention to detail in data entry.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with external and internal stakeholders.
