Senior C++ Builder / Delphi Developer

Excel Nearshore is looking for an experienced developer with strong expertise in Embarcadero C++ Builder (RAD Studio) or Delphi (VCL Framework) for developing, enhancing, and maintaining Windows desktop applications. The ideal candidate should have extensive hands-on experience working within the Embarcadero RAD Studio ecosystem, strong SQL/database programming skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and maintain legacy desktop applications.

Important Technical Clarification:

This position specifically requires hands-on experience with Embarcadero C++ Builder (RAD Studio) or Delphi (VCL). Embarcadero C++ Builder and Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) represent two fundamentally different approaches to building native Windows desktop applications. C++ Builder is a Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment built around the Visual Component Library (VCL) and visual application development, whereas MFC is a Microsoft C++ framework that wraps the Win32 API. Candidates whose experience is limited to Microsoft Visual C++ (MFC), Win32 API, ATL, or generic Visual Studio C++ are NOT suitable for this requirement unless they also possess significant hands-on experience with Embarcadero C++ Builder or Delphi.

This is a fully remote and full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Windows desktop applications using Embarcadero C++ Builder (RAD Studio) or Delphi (VCL Framework).
• Enhance and support existing applications built using the VCL framework.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application enhancements, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
• Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with QA, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Support teams.
• Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices.
• Contribute to application modernization or migration initiatives.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Embarcadero C++ Builder (RAD Studio) or Delphi (VCL Framework).
• Strong Windows Desktop Application Development experience.
• Hands-on experience with VCL (Visual Component Library) and RAD Studio.
• Strong SQL programming skills including complex queries, joins, stored procedures, query optimization, and database design.
• Strong Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience maintaining legacy desktop applications.
