Your role

As a Senior Collections Analyst, You Will

• Escalation & Complex Resolution: Serve as the primary SME for resolving high-risk payment exceptions, complex cross-entity reconciliations, and intricate unapplied cash discrepancies.
• Process Transformation & Automation: Partner with Technology and Finance teams to drive automation initiatives, optimize cash-matching rules, and participate in ERP upgrades, testing, and validation.
• Analytics & Performance Reporting: Develop operational reporting, KPI dashboards, and analytics using large data sets to monitor processing accuracy, team productivity, unapplied cash aging, and volume trends.
• Root-Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Perform root-cause investigations on recurring payment mismatches, short-pays, and bank file errors to implement permanent process fixes.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and train Cash Applications Analysts I & II; create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and team knowledge bases.
• Cross-Functional Partnering: Represent Cash Applications in cross-functional forums with Billing, Collections, Treasury, and Accounting to align end-to-end revenue cycle workflows.
• SOX Governance & Close Execution: Audit workflows to ensure compliance with SOX controls and internal accounting policies, leading month-end and quarter-end close reconciliations with minimal supervision.

What You Need:

• 5+ Years Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive operational experience in cash applications, accounts receivable (A/R), revenue cycle management, or financial accounting operations.
• Subject Matter Expertise: Expert-level mastery of double-entry accounting principles, complex A/R reconciliations, bank lockbox/EDI processing, and root-cause ledger auditing.
• Advanced Data Analysis: Expert skills in Microsoft Excel (handling large data sets, complex formulas, data modeling) to synthesize operational metrics and ledger trends.
• Project & Change Management: Demonstrated track record of driving process improvements, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and implementing scalable operational solutions.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and mentorship skills to influence decisions and coach team members across functions.
  
  

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Educational Foundation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Advanced Technology Stack: Hands-on experience with enterprise ERPs (e.g., Oracle Cloud Fusion, SAP, NetSuite) and analytics/automation platforms (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, SQL).
• Certifications: Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or formal process improvement accreditation.
• Specialized Industry Background: Prior experience in high-volume B2B environments, healthcare revenue cycle management, or SaaS enterprise finance.
