What You'll Be Doing The Senior Consultant works collaboratively within a team of highly qualified Advisory consultants to deliver financial performance improvement to healthcare systems, with a focus on revenue cycle, managed care, and clinical integrity engagements. This position is primarily responsible for performing billable work for clients and actively leading and participating in engagement workstreams. The Senior Consultant participates in all aspects of an engagement, including identifying issues, forming hypotheses, planning and conducting interviews, planning and overseeing analytics, developing recommendations and solutions, synthesizing information into cohesive presentations, and helping implement change. They work in a team environment, providing input and support to team deliverables and presentations throughout each phase of a project, and support day to day workstream management, including project management activities and economics. The Senior Consultant also participates in internal Premier activities, including practice development and required/approved educational opportunities, and stays current on the technologies Premier offers clients across revenue cycle, managed care, and clinical integrity solution areas. Core Expectations Maintain utilization targets for client billable projects Create value through meaningful client interactions, data analytics and insights, and team participation on client projects Create value for the Advisory practice through meaningful participation in activities that grow and enrich the practice, or the Revenue Cycle, Managed Care, and Clinical Integrity service lines specifically Analytics Focused Roles Senior Consultants on the Analytics team bring expertise in Premier and PINC AI databases and in connecting existing and new datasets to create enriched content used for revenue cycle, managed care, and clinical integrity analytics. This role interacts with clients, Premier internal product teams, and Advisory counterparts across all service lines, and is expected to build strong working relationships within the Premier/client team. They lead production and quality assurance of client analytics deliverables and provide data-driven insights and solutions. Additional responsibilities include: Build and maintain dynamic and interactive data models based on Premier and client needs, including revenue cycle performance, payer reimbursement, and clinical documentation/coding datasets Lead process standardization efforts Lead efforts to standardize and automate client deliverables and internal tools Troubleshoot Tableau workbooks, SQL scripts, Excel analyses, and other analytics tools Apply AI-based tools and techniques to accelerate data analysis, automate recurring deliverables, and surface insights across revenue cycle, managed care, and clinical integrity datasets Key Responsibilities Client Delivery & Analysis (60%) Obtain data, execute, direct, and oversee analyses, initiate interpretations and conclusions, and prepare verbal and graphic presentations using methods that are professionally sound, efficient, and conform to standards. Perform quality assurance on assigned workstream deliverables Participate in client interviews and apply analytical tools/methods to help determine client needs; summarize findings coherently and draw insight from observations, interviews, and data analyses Develop accurate conclusions from findings; draft recommendations and potential solutions related to revenue cycle, managed care, or clinical integrity outcomes for team leadership review Execute project plans in accordance with engagement statements of work and to client satisfaction Develop presentations and deliverables that communicate strategy and outcomes to client audiences Generate billable revenue by conducting assigned analyses, writing and preparing reports, and assisting clients in implementing recommended changes Participate in project management activities as assigned regarding their workstream Manage the budget and expenses for their assigned workstream Participate in risk and issue identification and mitigation with the project leadership team Practice Development (20%) Participate in practice development activities for the Advisory Services Practice overall, or specifically for the Revenue Cycle, Managed Care, or Clinical Integrity service lines Technology & Solutions (10%) Learn and stay current on Premier-based technologies and services relevant to revenue cycle, managed care, and clinical integrity engagements Business Development (5%) Actively listen for market opportunities on current engagements and through collaborative networks; communicate potential leads to managers Contribute to sales presentation deliverables using prescribed formats and technology; proactively seek opportunities to participate Identify opportunities to improve profitability Training (5%) Complete all required training on an annual basis Required Qualifications Work Experience: 4 or more years of applicable experience Education: Bachelor's degree (required) Preferred Qualifications Skills: Coordinate and deliver effective verbal and written presentations to client audiences communicating project outcomes, recommendations, and strategy Conduct analyses and support/mentor others in the delivery and production of client deliverables Apply data-driven and analytics-based methods to identify revenue leakage, payer performance gaps, or documentation/coding accuracy issues Relate to clients and team members in an effective, collaborative manner Lead work groups to successful outcomes Analytics Focused Roles: Lean Process Improvement; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Experience: Experience in one or more of the following: revenue cycle performance improvement (net revenue optimization, denials management, cash acceleration); managed care/payer strategy (contract modeling, reimbursement analytics, payer negotiations); or clinical integrity (clinical documentation improvement, coding accuracy, utilization review) Experience in health systems finance, operations, or strategic/decision support consulting Analytics Focused Roles: Experience analyzing complex healthcare data sets, including revenue cycle, payer, or clinical documentation data, and developing visualizations and presentations to support data-driven recommendations Experience with qualitative and quantitative data validation and analysis Experience in new methodology development and strategic problem-solving Experience using AI-based tools (e.g., generative AI, machine learning models, or automation platforms) to support data analysis, deliverable development, or process automation Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred Additional Job Requirements Remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time Adapt and change priorities quickly; meet deadlines Attention to detail Operate computer programs and software Communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats Day-to-day contact with others (co-workers and/or the public) Make independent decisions Work collaboratively in close quarters with peers, with varying interruptions Additional Job Requirements: Remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time Be adaptive and change priorities quickly; meet deadlines Attention to detail Operate computer programs and software Ability to communicate effectively with audiences in person and in electronic formats . Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
