Is this job info correct?

Senior Content Marketing Manager Who we are: At Wagepoint, we're good people. It's easy to feel that way when you're surrounded by folks doing the best work of their careers, building great payroll software for small businesses across Canada. Our team brings together diverse backgrounds, perspectives, experiences, and ideas to make payroll the easiest part of running a business. We're remote-first, growing, and looking for passionate people who don't settle for the first solution or the way it's been done before. We care deeply about our customers and each other, and understand that when it comes to payroll, getting it right matters. Our values guide how we work and what we expect from one another: Cultivate Impact by focusing on what matters most and delivering meaningful outcomes for our customers. Unify as One Team by collaborating openly, communicating clearly, and rallying around shared goals. Stay Curious and Kind by challenging assumptions, learning quickly, and leading with empathy. If you want to build the future of payroll in a place where your ideas are welcomed and your contributions matter, look no further! The role at high level: We're looking for a talented Senior Content Marketing Manager who enjoys tackling hard problems and wants to create meaningful impact for small businesses across Canada. Wagepoint is looking for a hands-on digital content marketer who can turn strategy into a steady stream of useful, discoverable and distinctly Wagepoint content. You'll own our day-to-day social publishing engine and content-led SEO and GEO execution, while writing, editing, repurposing and coordinating the people needed to get strong work out the door. This is a maker role with strategic range. You'll be close enough to the work to write the content, run the content engine, and read the performance report - then use what you learn to make the next piece better. You will report directly to our Director, Content & Brand. What you'll be expected to own: Social publishing and distribution (about 30%) Own the day-to-day social editorial calendar across Wagepoint's priority channels, from idea and platform-native copy through scheduling, publishing and quality control. Maintain a dependable rhythm of five posts per week, balancing educational, brand, product, customer and timely content, prioritizing relevance, audience reach, qualified traffic and meaningful action. Turn blogs, guides, webinars, videos, research and customer insights into channel-specific social stories rather than simple link promotion. Partner with design and internal subject-matter experts on briefs, visual direction and fast approvals. Track channel performance, test formats and messages, and share clear recommendations about what to repeat, stop or change. Content SEO, GEO and organic growth (about 25%) Translate technical SEO, search-demand, AI-search behaviour and audience insights into a prioritized content backlog of new pages, targeted refreshes and internal-linking improvements. Build briefs around the real questions and intent of our SMB and accounting and bookkeeping audiences, with credible expertise, useful structure and a clear next step. Optimize on-page elements, structure, metadata and internal links while protecting clarity, accuracy and Wagepoint's voice. Work with our technical SEO/GEO and web partners on recommendations, implementation dependencies and measurement; bring content judgment to the decisions. Monitor rankings, qualified organic traffic, engagement and conversion signals, then use the evidence to shape the roadmap. Writing, editing and brand voice (about 25%) Write and edit short- to long-form work such as social copy, conversion copy, product and campaign content, resource updates, and web copy. Build a regular feedback loop with Sales, Customer Success and other customer-facing teams to uncover common questions, objections, successes and friction that should shape the editorial calendar. Make complex or compliance-sensitive topics clear, human and practical without sanding away the nuance. Edit work from internal contributors, specialists and partner advocates for structure, accuracy, voice and usefulness. Use AI thoughtfully to accelerate research, ideation, repurposing and quality checks while keeping human judgment, originality and accountability firmly in the loop. Content operations and measurement (about 20%) Keep the editorial calendar, briefs, reviews and handoffs moving so the team can publish consistently without last-minute scrambles. For larger content initiatives, define the priority audience, distribution plan and desired next action before production begins. Build lightweight systems for repurposing, evergreen refreshes, content governance and asset reuse. Maintain a simple monthly view of owned content performance that connects publishing activity to audience growth, engagement, qualified traffic and conversion. Spot workflow bottlenecks and solve them with better priorities, clearer roles or simpler processes. What you bring to the table: About seven or more years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing or social content - or equivalent evidence that you have operated at this level. A portfolio that shows strong writing and editing across formats, including work you personally created and work you improved or directed. Hands-on ownership of brand social channels, including editorial planning, publishing, measurement and iteration. Practical SEO/GEO experience: search intent, content briefs, on-page optimization, internal linking, content refreshes and performance analysis. The ability to make complex subjects understandable without losing accuracy - especially when facts, regulations or customer trust matter. Comfort using analytics and channel tools to make decisions. Experience with tools such as HubSpot, Agorapulse; exact tool matches are not required. Strong project judgment in a lean, remote environment: you can prioritize, ask for what you need, collaborate generously and ship. Bonus points if: Experience in Canadian payroll, accounting, bookkeeping, fintech, HR technology, B2B SaaS or another complex or regulated category. Experience marketing to small business owners and/or professional advisors. Experience with data-led content, webinars, video or integrated campaign distribution. Familiarity with emerging search behaviour, AI-assisted discovery and content designed to earn citations or recommendations beyond traditional search results. What we bring to the table: Impact: Dig in and directly contribute to Wagepoint’s growth and success. Culture: Work alongside a team that genuinely enjoys solving problems together, celebrates wins, supports one another through challenges, and still finds time for the occasional terrible joke. Growth: We believe learning is part of the job. We’re committed to helping you Get Better Every Day (a representation of our Stay Curious and Kind value!) by offering professional development, new experiences, and career growth as we continue to evolve. Innovation: Curiosity and experimentation encouraged! Bring ideas, challenge assumptions, responsibly utilize AI, and help shape better ways of working. Remote: Work from wherever you do your best work. Wagepoint has always been remote-first, giving you flexibility, autonomy, and hopefully a little extra time with the people (and pets) you love. Ready to join the team? Apply now and help us continue making payroll the easiest part of running a business. Next steps: If this sounds like the right fit, we’d love to hear from you! No need for a formal cover letter, just send us your resume and if you’d like, a few lines about what excites you about the opportunity. If we agree it's a great match, someone from our team will reach out to schedule a call. Psssst! In 2026, we were recognized as one of Canada's Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness and Inclusion. That commitment extends to our hiring process, where we strive to create an experience that is welcoming, respectful, and inclusive from day one. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, identities, and perspectives, and we're committed to building a workplace where everyone can thrive. As a remote company, all interviews are conducted virtually. If you require accommodation at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know. We're happy to support you! **This job posting is for an existing vacancy. As part of our hiring process, AI-based tools are used to support the initial review of applications. Rest assured, our People Ops team carefully reviews all applications and makes the final decisions on candidate progression.
