Purpose Of The Position
We are looking for a
Senior Cost Control Engineer to join our
Project Control and Project Risk Management area, with direct responsibility for the economic and financial control of complex, high-value projects.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the project cost control system, ensuring accurate cost monitoring, variance analysis, forecast updates and timely support to the Project Manager and Management through reliable and actionable data.
This is a senior-level role requiring solid experience in complex project environments, strong analytical skills, advanced ownership and the ability to interact effectively with Project Managers, Project Control Managers, corporate functions, AFC, Procurement, Contract Management and internal and external stakeholders.
Here Below Your Responsibilities
- Carry out corrosion assessments, identify damage mechanisms and perform corrosion rate calculations
- Advise for equipment, valves, and piping material selection based on internal and external corrosion
- Create and develop Material Selection Diagrams (MSD) and Corrosion Loop Diagrams (CLD)
- Create and develop Corrosion control strategies to cover different corrosion mitigations methodologies
- Define the Integrity Operating Windows (IOW)
- Create and develop the Corrosion Management Program (CMP)
- Support Maintenance and Inspection Team within the RBI assessment process
- Technical support for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) e Failure Analysis
- Technical Support to Management of Change (MOC)
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables adhere to the company's QA/QC protocols and ISO standards.
- Execution & Oversight: Execute and supervise engineering tasks using approved company and client methodologies to maintain high quality and project alignment.
- HSE Compliance: Enforce and monitor all Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) and Quality Management procedures for both the company and clients.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- setting up, managing and updating the project cost control system in line with procedures, company standards and contractual requirements;
- defining and maintaining the Cost Breakdown Structure and ensuring proper project budget allocation;
- analyzing the Original Control Budget and preparing the Revised Control Budget, highlighting deviations and critical areas;
- monitoring actual costs, committed costs, accruals, physical and economic progress, earned value and value of work done;
- preparing and updating forecast data, including Estimate at Completion and Estimate to Completion;
- promptly identifying deviations from approved budget and current forecasts, proposing corrective actions and mitigation scenarios;
- supporting the Project Manager in achieving economic, quarterly and yearly targets, including costs, revenues, cash flow and invoicing;
- contributing to change management, claim management and cost impact analysis related to contractual variations;
- supporting the risk and opportunity management process through cost evaluations and scenario analysis;
- preparing periodic project and company reports, including Cost Control Reports, Project Status Reports, cash flow and management analyses;
- collaborating with AFC, Procurement, Contract Management, Planning and other project functions to ensure data consistency, compliance and traceability;
- promoting a cost-conscious culture within the project team, with a proactive approach to economic performance and risk management.
Candidate Profile
The Ideal Candidate Has
- solid experience as Cost Control Engineer, Project Control Engineer or in similar roles within EPC, Oil & Gas, Energy, Engineering, Construction or large industrial project environments;
- proven ability to manage complex budgets, forecasts, cost reporting, cash flow and variance analysis;
- advanced knowledge of project control, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, earned value and reporting processes;
- experience in managing Cost Breakdown Structures, Work Breakdown Structures and related integration with corporate systems;
- familiarity with procurement processes, project accounting, accruals, invoicing, cash-in/cash-out and AFC principles;
- ability to contribute to risk management, change management and contract management processes;
- advanced knowledge of tools such as SAP, PRISM, Primavera P6, advanced Excel and project reporting systems;
- ability to work in international, multidisciplinary and complex environments;
- excellent written and spoken English.
