Your New Role… Join the Privacy & Data Strategy Legal team and help drive a consumer-first global privacy strategy across media, streaming, production, and digital businesses. In this role, you will support the WBD TVN Poland privacy programme, CNN International, and WBD’s global streaming products, helping teams navigate complex privacy and data protection challenges while embedding privacy-by-design and building consumer trust. Provide privacy legal counselling, risk assessment, and mitigation advice to WBD EMEA stakeholders, with a particular focus on TVN and Polish entities, covering consumer, employee, and production data matters; act as nominated GDPR legal representative for data subject access requests and regulatory correspondence across WBD EMEA entities (TVN, HBO, Digital, GC, Scripps, DPOL, TBS, Stavka, Fundacja); support privacy policy reviews and contribute to updates to consumer, employee, and production-facing privacy materials; and review and advise on AI Use Cases, escalating novel or higher-risk matters as appropriate. CNN International Privacy. Serve as the dedicated privacy legal resource for CNN International, advising editorial, operations, and technology teams on data protection compliance — including source protection, newsgathering privacy, journalist data security, and audience data use; support and coordinate regulatory submissions and proceedings before data protection authorities, working with senior Privacy Legal team members and external counsel; monitor and maintain internal documentation on relevant legal developments across CNN International's operating territories; and review and advise on AI Use Cases and Data Use Cases relating to CNN International products, escalating novel or higher-risk matters as appropriate. WBD Streaming Consumer & Product Privacy. Advise Product, Engineering, Technology, Marketing, Ad-Tech, and Ad Sales teams on consumer and product privacy issues for WBD streaming products globally (including Max), covering privacy-by-design, consent frameworks, data use cases, and consumer-facing privacy controls; review and advise on digital ad sales and cookie/tracking technology frameworks; conduct and oversee Privacy/Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for streaming product initiatives; and review and advise on AI Use Cases relating to WBD consumer-facing products, escalating novel or higher-risk matters as appropriate. Commercial Agreements & Contracts. Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data protection terms in commercial agreements relating to CNN International and WBD streaming, including data processing agreements, distribution agreements, ad-tech contracts, and T&Cs advise on privacy compliance for WBD Poland production activities, including review of privacy clauses in production and co-production agreements, influencer contracts, and agreements with digital service providers; and contribute to and help maintain WBD Poland standard privacy provisions and negotiation positions for production contracts. WBD Privacy Controls Framework. Draft, review, and refine privacy programme documentation across the role's remit, including ROPA files, DPIAs, LIAs, DPAs, privacy notices, individual rights and data subject request processes and escalations, checklists, guidance, and document templates; and cooperate with Privacy Legal team members to ensure coherent and consistent updates to privacy programme items. Information Security & Regulatory Actions. Collaborate with Information Security teams on legal response to data security incidents affecting CNN International and WBD streaming products, including communications with management and participation in incident response, in cooperation with assigned Privacy Legal team members; and support responses to data subject requests, regulatory inquiries, and enforcement actions for CNN International and WBD streaming. Qualifications & Experience… Extensive privacy or data protection legal experience gained in-house or at a leading law firm, with exposure to media, technology, or entertainment sectors preferred. Experience advising on consumer-facing digital products, streaming services, broadcast media, and GDPR compliance programmes, including regulatory proceedings and commercial contract negotiation. Law degree (LL.M., J.D., Master of Law, or equivalent) and admission to a bar or equivalent in-house counsel qualification in a relevant jurisdiction. In-depth knowledge of GDPR and familiarity with UK GDPR, together with an understanding of media, streaming, digital marketing, consent management, and ad-tech data practices. Professional-level English and Polish language skills (C1/C2 required); CIPP/E, CIPM, or equivalent privacy certification is advantageous. Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
