Position Purpose: The position will be a key member of the StoneX Credit Risk Team. The StoneX Credit Risk Team is responsible for the initial and ongoing underwriting of customers across StoneX’s multiple business lines as well as proactively monitoring and mitigating credit risks across the portfolio – with a focus on counterparty-level risk as well as broader industry and portfolio-wide risks. The position exposes the Sr. Credit Analyst to various underlying commodity markets (from corn and soybeans to cocoa and coffee to crude oil and natural gas) and product types (from futures, options, and OTC structured trades to physical commodity merchandising) across the globe. The position is integral to the business and offers high visibility, responsibility, and an opportunity for growth for the right candidate. Responsibilities Primary duties will include: Independently assess the financial strength and credit risks of customers by conducting financial statement analysis, assigning ratings through quantitative and qualitative analysis, and understanding the customer’s business, industry, and products and services offered by StoneX. Prepare credit reviews and approve limits, if within Sr. Credit Analyst authority, or recommend limits to senior members of the Credit Risk Team or the Risk Management Committee, as applicable. Anticipate and assess the impact of commodity price and market volatility on customer exposures, escalating emerging risks as appropriate. Monitor and manage customer exposures to ensure compliance with established limits, including heightened monitoring and reporting on watch-list and workout accounts. Partner with Front Office, members of the Risk Team, and other internal groups (e.g., Legal, Operations, and AML/Compliance) to support business development and growth, while mitigating credit risk. Review and provide input on credit terms within legal agreements such as Guarantees, ISDAs, Netting Agreements, and Standby Letters of Credit. Contribute to Credit policy/process improvements and support the development and testing of credit systems, reports, and processes. Serve as a technical resource/informal mentor for Credit Analysts. Qualifications To land this role you will need: Four or more years of applicable work experience, preferably within a financial institution or commodity merchandising company. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex information for credit and management decisions. Ability to exercise good judgment in assessing opportunities and risk. Self-starter and entrepreneurial. Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communication skills. What makes you stand out: Knowledge of commodity risk management, futures, options, and OTC trading, and/or physical commodity markets is preferred. Basic proficiency of SQL, Python, R, or other software package preferred. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred, but not required. Education / Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field. Working Style: 4 days per week onsite, 1 day per week remote Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment.
