Job Overview If you're a Senior Data & DevOps Engineer who thrives at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and AI innovation, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor and hands-on expert, partnering across business units and IT to architect and optimize our Azure-based enterprise data platform. You’ll mentor engineering teams, champion best practices, and drive automation and scalability through modern DevOps and data engineering tools. We’re looking for someone who brings deep expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem, a passion for building resilient, future-ready platforms, and a desire to shape the next generation of data and AI capabilities at Charles River. Key Duties & Responsibilities Build, administer and deploy key infrastructure within the Azure Cloud supporting a wide variety of technology solutions. Working specifically with services in Azure such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, Azure Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure DNS, Virtual Network, Azure App Service. Build core cloud infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure As Code). Manage code, CI/CD pipelines and documentation via Azure DevOps platform. Define and manage release workflows to update latest code to the corresponding environments. Enable developers with automation of deployments and testing frameworks Document, implement and audit security and access permissions for the data platform. Monitor nightly data pipelines to meet SLAs. Respond to alerts across many services related to the EDH platform providing timely and effective solutions. Create and standardize user communications for operations failures. Work within Agile squads delivering first in class technology solutions. This position will work remote from home office located in India. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline, Master’s Degree preferred Minimum of 7 years related experience in Data and DevOps Engineering Minimum 5 years hands-on experience building infrastructure and technology solutions within the Azure cloud. Experience with the following services is preferable Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, Azure Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure DNS, Virtual Network, Azure App Service. Hands on experience administering and using source control systems (GitHub, Azure DevOps). Hands on experience developing and maintaining CI\CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferable). Hands on experience deploying cloud Infrastructure As Code. Hands on experience automating processes using coded solutions (Powershell, Python preferable). Experience working with Agile squads Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a project team. Capability to conduct performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation. Interface with key customers from all functional areas. Proven and recent experience of implementing solutions from requirements gathering and process design to functional production deployment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. Experience (preferred): Administering relational database management systems (RDMS). Experience in ETL design, development, and performance tuning in general. Experience managing and governing cloud costs. Experience working with other public cloud technologies AWS, GCP. Experience working with MS Fabric. Experience working AI tool stack in Azure.
