Senior Data Architect

Location: Helsinki, Tampere, Jyväskylä, or permanent remote work within Finland. Relocation support is not available.

Compensation: 4.500 € - 6.600 € Gross / month

Language Requirements: Professional fluency in both English and Finnish

They are currently expanding their data practice and seeking versatile Data Architecture professionals across multiple seniority levels.

The Role in a Nutshell

We are seeking an adaptable Data Architect (open to Senior or Lead level) capable of bridging the gap between high-level business strategy and robust technical execution. In this role, you will collaborate directly with enterprise clients to translate operational objectives into scalable data platform designs, modern data models, and high-throughput pipelines. Beyond strategic oversight, you maintain a practical edge—ready to write SQL, configure cloud components, or optimize ETL/ELT workflows whenever project demands require.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Data Blueprinting: Convert high-level corporate goals into clear, actionable technical specifications, data pipelines, and distributed data platform designs.
• High-Volume Data Systems: Design, implement, and maintain fault-tolerant distributed architectures for continuous data extraction, ingestion, and real-time/batch processing.
• Modern Pipeline & Modeling Execution: Build robust data warehouses, multi-layered data models, and resilient ETL/ELT workflows using cutting-edge ecosystems.
• Cloud Infrastructure Operations: Provision, manage, and scale cloud environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, applying modern DevOps and DataOps principles.
• Data Governance & Quality Management: Integrate supporting data ecosystems, including Master Data Management (MDM) frameworks, data cataloging solutions, and end-to-end lineage tracking tools.
• Collaborative Advisory & Delivery: Lead client interactions, guide technical choices, and actively write code or deploy cloud resources during critical execution phases.

Experience

• Professional Background: Extensive expertise in data engineering or architecture, with a proven ability to design end-to-end data ecosystems and manage distributed data processing systems.
• Cloud & Ecosystem Mastery: Applied experience with at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP), alongside strong expertise in Snowflake, dbt, or Databricks.
• Core Technical Skills: Proficient in relational data modeling, complex SQL development, and high-scale data warehouse construction using Agile, DevOps, and DataOps frameworks.
• Language Proficiency: Native or fully fluent verbal and written communication skills in both Finnish and English to support local enterprise engagements.
• Executive Stakeholder Presence: Exceptional consultation skills with a demonstrated track record of building trust and articulating complex architectural trade-offs to senior leadership teams.
