About The Role

What Will You Do? 🦾

As a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data infrastructures that turn raw data into reliable, actionable insights. You’ll work like an internal enabler for multiple teams, owning data pipelines end-to-end and ensuring data quality, performance, and availability across the organization.

Your Missions

• Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines (ETL/ELT) to ingest, transform, and serve data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize data models and warehouses to support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance, monitoring pipelines and resolving issues proactively.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Tech, Analytics, and Business teams to understand data needs and translate them into scalable solutions.
• Enable analytics and experimentation by providing clean, well-documented, and accessible datasets.
• Drive continuous improvement of the data stack, tooling, and best practices, balancing speed, scalability, and cost.
  
  

What We’re Looking For 👀

• Data Engineering Expertise – Strong experience building and maintaining data pipelines, warehouses, and integrations. Solid knowledge of SQL and modern data engineering tools.
• Cloud & Data Stack – Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), data warehouses/lakes, and orchestration tools.
• Analytical Mindset – Ability to understand business problems and translate them into effective data structures and solutions.
• Autonomy & Ownership – Comfortable working as a contractor with high ownership, managing priorities independently and delivering reliably.
• Track Record – 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in similar data-focused roles, ideally in startups or scale-ups.
• Bonus – Experience in SaaS, travel-tech, or hospitality-related data environments.
• Languages – Fluent English. Professional Italian is a plus.

Candidates with solid professional experience but limited exposure to this specific role typically join with an annual OTE starting from €45,000 across Europe, while candidates with significant relevant experience may receive compensation of up to €67,000, depending on their expertise, scope of responsibilities, and expected impact - also, you have the opportunity to receive equity, aligning your success with the long-term growth of the company. Our compensation philosophy is designed to reward growth, ownership, and meaningful contributions. As you develop your skills and increase your impact within the company, your compensation can progress rapidly to reflect your achievements and responsibilities.
