Is this job info correct?

ParentSquare is a rapidly growing Santa Barbara-based company that’s changing the way schools and parents communicate every day. Sound simple? We strive to keep it that way! Our mission is to give schools the power to incredibly enhance family engagement for all students. ParentSquare and RemindHub, our flagship products, serve over 22 million students and drive our mission by providing unified communications tools -forms, sign ups, payments, RSVPs, direct messaging, language translations, chat and more. Remind Chat, our free product, reaches over 80% of K-12 students, providing a safe and easy-to-use platform for direct communication between teachers and families. And our latest innovation, SmartSites, offers state-of-the-art websites for school districts, enhancing their online presence and accessibility. We are not just creating a product; we are creating empowered educators and engaged parents to improve the lives of all students. We are passionate advocates for our customers and for our employees and we invite you to join us on this exciting journey. We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team in building and evolving our data platform - from scalable pipelines and data warehouse architecture to governance and quality frameworks baked into the design. You'll contribute to and champion our data lakehouse strategy, shape how we think about data products, and help set the standard for modern data engineering practices across the organization. You'll partner closely with Product Engineering, DevOps, and InfoSec to deliver on our architectural vision, and work hand in hand with our Data Scientists to ensure the right data is available, modeled, and ready to power meaningful analysis and discovery. This role is for a solutions evangelist - someone who is genuinely energized by where data platforms are going. Who You Are You're a proactive, curious builder who takes ownership and thinks ahead. You have experience designing end-to-end data products. You're just as comfortable communicating your ideas as you are heads-down building. You know when to pursue the elegant solution and when to just ship it, and you're transparent about the decision and trade-offs. You bring positive, no-ego energy to everything you do and collaborate naturally with the people around you. A sense of humor is required. What You’ll Do Design and Scale Data Infrastructure: Architect and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines and systems across our stack. Drive Data Quality and Governance: Build frameworks and standards that ensure data is accurate, well-documented, and trustworthy at every layer. Evolve Our Platform: Continuously evaluate and improve our solutions - optimizing for performance, cost, and scalability while bringing best practices and a forward-thinking approach to every decision. Enable the Business: Partner with Data Science, Analytics, and business teams to develop pipelines, data models, metric definitions and semantic layers and ensure the data is consistent and accurate. Balance Speed and Scale: Recognize when to move fast with a pragmatic solution and when to invest in building the right system - and communicate those tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders. Champion Modern Practices: Embrace AI-assisted development workflows, stay current on tooling, and help the team continuously raise the bar. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics or a closely related field Strong SQL and Python skills; comfortable working across the full data stack Hands-on experience with modern data tooling and platforms - Fivetran, dbt, Snowflake, Databricks or Redshift. Experience building data pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS preferred), and infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform Experience with change data capture and event-driven data patterns Solid understanding of modern warehouse and lakehouse architecture, data modeling fundamentals including Kimball dimensional modeling and medallion design patterns Experience with data quality frameworks, and governance practices Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Experience with AI-driven development tools (Cursor, Copilot, or similar) integrated into day-to-day engineering workflows is a bonus! The perks of working for us are great! You’ll get your foot in the door as our company continues to grow. We’re big believers in work-life balance and provide: Employer-paid health insurance (including dependent coverage) An employer-matched 401K retirement savings program from day 1 Paid Parental Leave Stock options Health + wellness reimbursements PTO that increases each year 15 paid holidays, including your birthday! As a fully remote team, we’ll make sure you have all the tools and equipment you need to make your home office a place where you can thrive. We're an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status. We are committed to maintaining a drug-free workplace in compliance with applicable state laws. The salary range for this role will be $130,000-$160,000, DOE.
