At the Engineering Competence Center, we deliver services and projects for the Automotive, Rail, and Oil & Gas sectors. Our specialized engineering teams work within project and competency groups, whose activities we manage. We also conduct training and certification programs to enhance the engineering competencies of our consultants.

Position

We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of Senior Data Engineer (he/she) for our client from the biotechnology industry.

Additional Information

The project focuses on building a global solution for Finance data and revenue forecasting. The goal is to bring together data from different sources, connect it with project schemas, and create reliable datasets that can be used for reporting, analytics, and business applications. You will work with data products in ONEFIN, blend and materialize data, build ETL processes, develop functions, and prepare APIs that support the Front-end REST API. The project is based on a modern, cloud-first technology stack with Snowflake at its core. You will collaborate with Finance experts, data analysts, UX designers, frontend developers, and software engineers in an international environment.

Offered salary

Salary: from 1 100 to 1 150 PLN net/day, depending on experience and competences.

You’re ideal for this role if you:

• Have 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake in a production environment.
• Have strong experience designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines, data blending solutions, and complex data transformations.
• Have advanced SQL skills and good practical knowledge of Python for data engineering.Have experience with data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Prefect, or similar.
• Have a strong understanding of cloud data warehouse concepts, including query optimization, clustering, materialized views, and cost management.
• Have experience working with Finance data, such as General Ledger, cost centers, P&L, or FP&A (strong advantage).
• Are experienced with GitHub, version control, branching strategies, and code reviews.
• Have experience designing, developing, and documenting REST APIs.Understand CI/CD practices for data engineering and data workloads.
• Have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Have fluent English communication skills (C1 or higher), enabling effective collaboration in an international environment.
  
  

Nice to have:

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/4HANA, or other ERP systems as data sources.
• Knowledge of data governance and metadata management tools such as Collibra or DataHub.
• Experience with Snowflake Data Sharing or Marketplace capabilities.
• Practical knowledge of dbt for data transformation and testing.
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling and modern approaches such as Data Vault or medallion architecture.
• Experience working in regulated industries, such as pharma, finance, or life sciences.
• Familiarity with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
  
  

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Analyzing data products in ONEFIN and connecting them to project schemas.Blending and materializing data to create reliable and trusted Finance datasets.
• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake and orchestration tools.
• Working with Snowflake features such as dynamic tables, streams, tasks, materialized views, data sharing, and Time Travel.
• Building data models suitable for Finance use cases.Writing SQL and Python code for data transformation and engineering tasks.
• Developing and maintaining functions and data processing logic.
• Designing and preparing REST APIs for the Front-end REST API and downstream consumers.
• Collaborating with frontend and full-stack developers to define data contracts and ensure reliable backend integration.
• Implementing data quality checks, monitoring, and data lineage practices.
• Optimizing Snowflake queries and managing performance and costs.
• Building and maintaining CI/CD processes for data pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
• Monitoring pipeline health and troubleshooting data-related issues.
• Working with Finance experts, data analysts, UX designers, and software engineers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contributing to data engineering standards, documentation, and best practices.
• Supporting the team as a technical expert and mentoring less experienced engineers when needed.
