About the Role We are looking for a Data Scientist to help evolve Analytics into a decision-driving business intelligence capability. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, analytics, experimentation, and machine learning. The ideal candidate is someone who can translate ambiguous business problems into analytical solutions, while balancing business impact, scalability, and technical rigor. You will work closely with Business, Product, and Engineering teams to build decision-focused models and scalable analytical capabilities across pricing, shipping, conversion optimization, supplier intelligence, and operational automation. Key Responsibilities Business Problem Solving Translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical problems Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-impact opportunities Frame problems using data, experimentation, and measurable business outcomes Decision-Focused Modeling Build models and analytical systems for pricing, forecasting, optimization, ranking, and operational automation Design solutions using the right level of complexity for the business context Balance interpretability, maintainability, and performance when selecting approaches Experimentation & Evaluation Define evaluation frameworks using both technical metrics and business impact Design and analyze experiments to validate hypotheses and measure effectiveness Monitor model performance, coverage, and operational impact in productio n Scalable Analytics & AI Build reusable analytical capabilities instead of one-off analyses Collaborate with Data Analysts and Engineers to productionize scalable solutions Demonstrate awareness of model deployment, monitoring, and operational considerations in production environments Contribute to the evolution of data models, feature logic, and analytical standards Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to operationalize insights Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Drive alignment across teams on metrics, assumptions, and decision logic About You Required: 5-8 years of experience in Data Science, Applied ML, Decision Science, or Advanced Analytics Strong proficiency in Python, ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and SQL Experience working with large datasets using SQL and distributed computing tools (e.g., Spark) Experience working with experimentation, predictive modeling, optimization, or recommendation systems Strong understanding of statistics, model evaluation, and trade-offs between model complexity and interpretability Ability to communicate analytical concepts clearly to business stakeholders Experience working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments Preferred: Experience in B2B marketplaces, eCommerce, pricing, supply chain, or operations analytics Experience with Databricks, Spark, or large-scale data environments Exposure to ranking systems, forecasting, optimization, or agentic AI workflows Experience designing reusable analytical frameworks and production-oriented ML systems What success looks like: Business problems are translated into measurable analytical solutions Models and insights directly influence business decisions and outcomes Analytical capabilities become more reusable and scalable over time Experiments and models are evaluated on business impact and technical accuracy Analytics becomes more proactive, decision-oriented, and direct revenue driver Our benefits: Working for a mission-driven business with a meaningful challenge with a positive impact on the scientific community A clear growth perspective A learning and development budget to enable your ambitions to grow professionally in your field A professional and dynamic team with a global vision and mindset An exciting, international working environment - we have more than 40 nationalities!
