Senior Data Scientist (Marketing Analytics/Causal Inference) - Remote Portugal  ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join an international technology-driven environment focused on building scalable, data-centric solutions that support impactful digital products used by global audiences. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work closely with product, marketing, and leadership teams to drive high-impact initiatives through data-driven insights and predictive modeling. PROJECT & CONTEXT You will contribute to strategic data science initiatives involving marketing optimization, product growth analysis, experimentation frameworks, and predictive modeling in cloud-native environments. The ecosystem leverages Python and R alongside advanced statistical libraries, large-scale SQL data processing, and modern cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The teams operate using Agile methodologies and collaborative delivery practices, working across multidisciplinary environments that include Product Managers, Data Engineers, Marketing stakeholders, and Executive Leadership. Projects focus on scalable analytics, rapid experimentation, data storytelling, and model optimization to support business growth and strategic decision-making. Depending on project and organizational needs, occasional national or international travel may be required, estimated between 0% and 15%. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (Required) Strong professional experience in Data Science or Advanced Analytics roles Expert-level proficiency with Python or R Strong experience with statistical modeling and experimentation techniques Hands-on experience with advanced statistical libraries such as CausalImpact and RStan Advanced SQL skills for large-scale data manipulation and analysis Experience working with multi-dimensional and large-scale datasets Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Ability to design, monitor, and optimize predictive and statistical models Experience translating complex analytical findings into actionable business insights Strong data storytelling and data visualization capabilities Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience influencing product and marketing strategy through data-driven recommendations Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and drive initiatives with minimal supervision Fluency in English NICE TO HAVE (Preferred) Experience working with Databricks Experience working with Snowflake Knowledge of marketing attribution models and growth optimization frameworks Experience with causal inference methodologies and Bayesian modeling Exposure to machine learning production workflows and MLOps concepts Familiarity with cloud-native analytics architectures and distributed data ecosystems Experience collaborating with executive leadership and cross-functional product teams Interest in experimentation frameworks, scalable analytics, and advanced statistical innovation
