Senior Database Migration Consultant

Working Model: Hybrid (3 days Remote / 2 days Onsite in Southern Germany) Onsite Locations: South Germany Start Date: September 1st, 2026 Capacity: 100% (Full-time) Duration: 6 months (with a strong prospect of long-term extension)

About the Opportunity We are currently expanding our expert network to support a major enterprise client in Southern Germany. The client is undergoing a large-scale infrastructure modernization, transitioning their core database systems from a complex Oracle environment to PostgreSQL.

We are looking for a hands-on, highly autonomous Database Migration Expert to integrate into the client's internal engineering unit and drive this transition technically.

Your Role & Impact

• Serve as the technical spearhead for migrating large-scale database landscapes from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
• Take ownership of data modeling, architectural alignment, and deep-level performance tuning on both DBMS platforms.
• Ensure absolute data integrity, quality assurance, and seamless integration within a heterogeneous system landscape.
• Note on tech stack: The exact migration toolchain and methodologies are currently being evaluated by the client and will be a key topic of discussion during your technical interview.

What You Need to Succeed

• Mandatory Language Skills: Absolute fluency in German is required to operate seamlessly within the local team. Professional English is also necessary.
• Proven Track Record: You must have demonstrable, hands-on experience in executing direct Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations, not just general DBA experience.
• Deep Technical Knowledge: Exceptional command of SQL, PL/SQL, PL/pgSQL, and robust architectural understanding of both Oracle and PostgreSQL ecosystems.
• Consulting Mindset: Ability to work independently, solve complex technical bottlenecks proactively, and communicate effectively with enterprise stakeholders.

Logistics & Conditions This role requires a stable hybrid setup. You must be able to guarantee 2 mandatory onsite days per week at the client's facilities. Please note that we operate on an all-inclusive rate model for this project: any travel, local transit, and accommodation costs must be factored into your proposed hourly rate.
