Is this job info correct?

Join our team as a Senior DevOps Engineer and help virtualize biological experiments to accelerate discovery! Turbine is building a computational model of human cellular biology, transforming the understanding of deadly diseases and designing life-saving treatments for patients with cancer. Combining molecular biology with data science, artificial intelligence and massive scale in the cloud, our interdisciplinary team works with leading biopharmaceutical companies across the globe. Turbine was founded on the premise that a predictive, computational model of biology would revolutionize drug discovery much like computer aided design software transformed engineering. Our growing team of biologists, data scientists and software developers has spent the several years building this model, allowing researchers to design and refine therapies before running years of biological experiments. Through millions of simulated experiments, Turbine finds the shortest, safest route for new therapies to reach patients, enabling researchers to focus their resources on fighting disease in the most efficient way possible. What You’ll Be Doing You’ll join Turbine’s Digital Lab team - the builders of the interface around our simulation core. Our mission is to empower researchers with intuitive, robust tools to interact with and extract insights from simulations that model biological processes. Here’s a look at what we work on A React-based web application, served by a Python backend, used by researchers and customers to run and interpret simulations. SQL and Data Lake databases that capture simulation outputs. Databricks (Spark) pipelines that process and transform results for further analysis. Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure that support the development, deployment and operation of our platform. A visualization platform that helps make complex biological data accessible and actionable. Your primary focus will be the platform foundation the whole product runs on: infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, cloud infrastructure and reliability. Our move to fully codified Azure infrastructure will already be well underway by the time you join - so your focus will be growing that IaC coverage further and making the platform scale cleanly as we take on more customers and simulations. You’ll own this side end to end, while staying close to the product - jumping into backend or full-stack work whenever a feature needs it to ship. How We Work Agile sprints every two weeks, tracked on Scrum boards - without rigid ceremony. A cross-functional team of software engineers, as well as data scientists and biologists - all collaborating to deliver end-to-end features. A culture that favors autonomy, ownership, and purpose over micromanagement. What do we offer? Make a real impact: Your engineering work directly accelerates the development of life-saving therapies. Enter biotech through engineering: Learn about drug development, cellular biology, and AI-driven bioinformatics as part of your day-to-day work - no prior life sciences experience required. Modern tech stack: Kubernetes, Databricks, Azure, GitHub Actions, scientific Python, TypeScript, and more. Supportive, mid-sized engineering org: We offer scale without bureaucracy - think democratic decision-making and low-ego collaboration. Flexible workstyle: Work from anywhere or join us in the office - it’s your choice. Competitive compensation and benefits tailored to support your growth and wellbeing. What do we expect? 5+ years of experience in software or platform engineering - regardless of your credentials or degree. A strong, hands-on DevOps background: you’ve built and owned infrastructure-as-code (Pulumi or Terraform), CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure yourself - not just consumed IaC someone else wrote. Solid full-stack development experience, or a clear ability and willingness to contribute across backend and frontend whenever a feature needs it. A product-engineer mindset: handed a problem, you dig into it even outside your core area, gather the context and requirements from the people involved (engineers, researchers, PMs), and drive it to a solution. Comfortable building with AI: you use modern AI coding tools day to day to move faster and lift your own output. A startup mindset - high ownership, bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a natural tendency to pull the team up around you. A passion for software and the ability to work independently and proactively. Exposure to Azure, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Python or TypeScript is helpful, but not required - we value strong fundamentals and can onboard you to our stack. You are a Turbiner if these personality traits apply to you You have self-awareness and strong intention on personal growth You seek out feedback and learn from mistakes and apply what you learned You take responsibility and focus on the outcomes over tasks You focus on shared success and are open to challenging others respectfully to get the best possible outcome You are in it for the long haul and have passion for our mission Before you apply, please make sure that you meet the following requirements: You already have the legal right to work in the European Union (we do not offer visa sponsorship). You are able to work from our Budapest office on a regular hybrid basis . Unfortunately, we are unable to consider applications that do not meet these mandatory requirements.
