Senior DevOps / Linux Engineer

Contract: 12 months (subject to extension).

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Salary: Not a constraint for the right candidate!

Experience: 8-10 years.

Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office

Your Profile & DNA:

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps / Linux Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Linux administration, Ansible automation, Grafana, Prometheus, and Azure DevOps.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux environments.
• Resolve infrastructure issues involving CPU, memory, disk, servers, and VMs.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation.
• Create Grafana dashboards and configure monitoring alerts.
• Develop PromQL queries and manage Prometheus alerting.
• Monitor infrastructure and application metrics and troubleshoot alerts.
• Create and troubleshoot Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Support Azure DevOps Artifacts and branch policies.
• Automate operational tasks using Bash and/or Python.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions.
• Proactively identify potential infrastructure and application issues.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application teams.

Qualification & Experience

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent.
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Hands-on troubleshooting of CPU, memory, and disk issues
• Experience supporting on-premises servers
• Experience troubleshooting VM-related issues
• Strong hands-on Ansible experience
• Ability to write Ansible playbooks
• Knowledge of Ansible roles and modules
• Hands-on Grafana experience, including dashboards and alerts
• Hands-on Prometheus experience
• Ability to write PromQL queries
• Understanding of metrics collection and alerting in Prometheus
• Hands-on Azure DevOps experience
• Experience creating and troubleshooting Azure DevOps pipelines
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps Artifacts and branch policies
• Bash and/or Python scripting experience
• Understanding of basic RDBMS concepts, indexes, and keys
• Strong critical-thinking and proactive approach
